992GT3 vs SLE - data graph
At the the time attack I did last week, there was a pretty cool mix of cars and the top 4 were - a pretty built Audi R8, a 991.2 GT3RS, a brand new 992 GT3 and my SLE. The R8 was in a league of its own, going 4 seconds faster than the next 3 of us where the 3 of us all were within .1 of second.
I was able to get the data for the 992 GT3 (first priority was for client in a 991.1 GT3Rs we are struggling with) and compare it to mine. It is mind-blowing how good the new GT3 is. His was completely stock and was a manual....the PDK would have even been quicker. Over the entire lap, I am losing out on just over 1 second of acceleration, but handling wise, the SLE is pretty impressive. Camaro is green -

Thanks for sharing the traces. Super interesting to see how close the two cars perform to one another. I’m curious, what was the difference in sector 6 between the two?
My last weekend with PCA was fun to run behind a few GT3 and GT3RS. It’s really impressive to see how quickly they hook up on turn exit much sooner than I can. They just to squat and go. My SS 1LE is more equivalent to the GT4 performance. Those cars/drivers are my performance benchmarks in the intermediate group with me. Related, I had an opportunity this week to buy a 991.1 Cup car that is well setup for DE and club racing. I turned it down because of operating expenses to run it. My local shop assured me they could set it up to be manageable at my skill level but really needs an engineer/technician to assist at the track. Instead I’m looking at two different GT4 981 Clubsports next week. It seems those will have much lower operating costs and have plenty of performance to challenge me. The 718s are just more than I want to spend now. Do you have any advice before I make the jump to a prepared race car? Will keep the Camaro to continue using too. Hope I don’t kick myself down the line for not buying the Cup car. |

Ken I am really keen to see if with the ZLE you can outpace the GT3RS

It's finally done and ready to be shaken down on track! Unfortunately it looks like next month before I can get time in it. Can't wait....

It looks like while the GT3 was braking harder, he was probably overbraking or braking early. Probably a partial consequence of the higher speeds but I think you said in your other GT3 post that it seemed less stable under braking.
and those shifts... was he granny shifting? yeesh. |
