C8 front and rear rims on Camaro6
I have a spare set of C8 rims id like to put on my LT1. The front rims are 19x8.5 the tears are 20x11.
The default tires for those rims are 245/35/r19 and 305/30/r20. This gives me a tire height of 27.2 rear and 25.8 front. The stock 245's have a height of 27.7. Im worried the mismatch will throw a stabilitrack error code. I know some people have put C8 rims on in the past, any input would be helpful. I'm thinking maybe I can just go with a 245/45/19 in front to bring the front to 27.7 Yes, I know about the rear wheel well wire harness. Yes, I know the offset is different. No, I don't want to drop 1000+ on 1le rims.

Sorry no help, but do hope you can get it worked out; should look pretty awesome. Pix please once the conversion is complete!

The bigger problem is the fronts are 19x8.5 +52 and rears are 20x11 +64 which is way too positive offset for our cars. You would have to run massive bolt on spacers. and then the 19 and 20 mismatch will throw a code for our cars.

I would have to really double look at how a 45 aspect ratio will look on the car. They look funny but that's a personal thing, I think. THat's all I got. I think the .5 difference in diameter isn't going to affect things. Curious about those offsets though.

Yeah, I hadn't
Thought about the front offset. The back is fine because it's so much wider, it needs the extra offset. But the fronts are the same width..... Dang.....

Either spend the money on wheels with proper widths and offsets or keep your stock wheels. |

The wheel widths and diameters are not a problem. Both front and rear will need spacers, but those are also not a problem as long as you use longer wheel studs with them. The SS 1LE also uses 20x11s but with only 43mm offset: I'm pretty sure the 64mm offset of the C8 wheels will result in massive interference on the inside without spacers. 7/8" spacers would be perfect. I'm not totally sure about interference up front without spacers, but they'd look strange with 245 tires set so far toward the inside. I'd probably try 1" front spacers to get a net 27mm offset.
The rear tire size of 305/30/20 is just fine: it's identical to that of an SS 1LE or ZL1. I think the 245/35/19 front will risk causing an ABS/TCS error because of the large difference in tire diameters. However, the 245/45/19 is going to look strange because it will be taller than the rears. You would want a 245/40/19 front tire, which gives a 26.7". That will work fine: keep in mind that the SS 1LE tire diameters are 26.8 and 27.2 from the factory, so this would be almost identical in diameter split.

I bought some ZL1 rims. Just easier that way.
