Shame them I tell you!
I will tell you all the story of how I got my allocation, hopefully it will help some other people. I placed my order for a 2ss on 1/30/23, not a crazy amount of options. I was stuck at 1100 for 6 weeks or so, and I feel like there was a good chance I would have gotten my allocation at the 1st of April anyways.
On 3/22/23 Chevrolet posted the 1st add on Facebook for the 2024 Camaro. I responded to the ad with "What good is a special edition when I can't even get a 2023 2SS order accepted? I can't imagine how hard it is going to be to get an allocation for this thing." GM social media responded with a generic message I have seen many times in response to something like this that says send us a DM with your order number and we will take a look. When I got home that night from work at 10 pm I sent them a DM with my order number. I got a call the next morning at 10 am from my sales person. My allocation had come in on 3/23/23. I asked him if this seemed unusual and he said yes, they never get allocations at this time of the month and it just dropped in out of the blue. I think 3 things really helped me in this approach. 1. I had been waiting 6 weeks for an allocation, I don't think they would have been as helpful if I had placed this order a week before. 2. I was first in line for the next allocation at my dealer, I do not think they would have given 2 or 3 allocations if I was behind other people. 3. I was not ordering a ZL1 1LE. I hope some other people who have been waiting much longer than 6 weeks could have some success with this approach. Only other thing I feel like I should mention is that I had liked every Camaro add I saw on Facebook for quite a while and also any generic Chevrolet adds. Something that I don't think had anything to do with all the above but was just luck of the draw, but you never know. My order had a TPW of 4/17. When I checked the Chevrolet chat bot on 4/19 they said it was built. On 4/22 it arrived at the dealer. It arrived at the dealer in Indy on the Saturday of it's TPW. I was amazed.

Great post! Thanks for sharing this info.
I've been waiting 3 weeks so far for an allocation on a 2SS vert 6M. I may try this approach if nothing happens next week.

Odd the dealer I worked thru had a couple of ZL1's allocated before my 2SS got an allocation. They called me and asked if I wanted to take a ZL1 to get it sooner, I declined. There is an issue with shipping 2SS's to northern climates in the winter, might be your 2SS was allocated because of the lifting of seasonal restrictions on the 2ss because of their summer only tires. If your in Ohio your not far from the Michigan plant the Camaro is built at so shipping could happen pretty quickly. It would be by truck. Back in 2014 I had a C7 built on a Thursday in Bowling Green Kentucky and was in the Toronto dealership the next Monday.

FYI...Not sure about a shipping issue in the north for tires...my ZL1 1LE was delivered in Wisconsin in January!

Salesman mentioned it to me and I have a friend who is an exec at GM on the Chevy sales side, he confirmed Cdn restrictions for shipping on summer only tires when I asked about it. Why Wisconsin might be different no idea. Camaro06 forum has had a number of discussions on those restrictions. When I was offered the ZL1 allocation there was no discussion with the dealership on delivery time (I didn't want it), just that the allocation came up before the one for my 2SS did. At that point no idea when the 2SS allocation might come. This post has a letter sent to dealers on the introduction of the ZL1 in Canada and it also mentions not until spring because of the summer only tire issue... https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=474765 Production Timing: ZL1 production for Canada will begin in time for the spring market, with the first units expected to arrive in the March/April Time Frame. ZL1 comes with performance summer-only tires that below certain temperatures may have a risk of damage; therefore, shipping will only commence when it's appropriate to do so.

Im canadian as well and placed a 2ss order April 11 2023. So if im understanding this right, they wont really accept orders for the vehicles with summer tires until the spring anyways? which can explain why im still 1100? starting to worry i wont make it for 2023 model year

Summer tires aren't a problem now, Jan/Feb yes. Anything above 20F is ok to roll a summer tire in, they are shipping them this time of year.
