Driver Side Hood Gap

The past weekend, I saw some ZLEs with rotofabs and noticed that their rotofab seals were completely smashed. My rotofab seal looks brand new, no compression on it. Took a look at my hood alignment, and sure enough it wasn't aligned.

I've read the posts about a hood gap and hood alignment and tried to fix it myself. This is the best I could get my driver side hood gap to look like.

I've tried all combinations of loosening and tightening the torx bolts. I've tried all combinations of adjusting the rubber nubs. I've tried all combinations of adjusting the hood latch, and I'm not sure what else to improve it.

What worked best was raising the passenger side hood latch as far up as it would go, lowering the driver side hood latch as far down as it would go, raising the leftmost passenger rubber nub as far as it would go, loosening the passenger bolt, and tightening the driver side torx bolt. Any other thoughts or recommendations?

I have the bumper to bumper warranty until July, but the dealer is an hour away and I'm 50/50 if they'll even fix it under warranty (ZLE aero installed and rotofab CAI)

Mine looks the same way, I think it's common to ZL1s.

Need to loosen the hood mounts back by the cowl and move the back of the hood towards the driver side.

The 2 screws that are back by where the hydraulic lifts are? Those screws didn't look adjustable to me. Or is it something else?

On my (I showed this on my post) My hood gap was larger on the drivers side vs the passenger side. found out it was due to the under hood scoop rain deflector making contact the the round air intake tube of the roto-fab. Once I shave a small amount of the rain deflector off, my hood closed properly and equally on both the passenger and drivers side.

I’ll have to take a look. I have to really slam my hood to get it to shut so I figured it would have pushed the tube down by now.

^^^ this. The service manual it a bit tight lipped about the process, but here's the advice from GM, see below. I tweaked the bolts for about an hour until hood gaps were all near perfect.

I had seen that image but couldn't tell what it was referencing by the 4 hood hinge nuts. 2 hinge nuts by the hydraulic arms, got it.

Yep, I had to slam mine too! Then I realized what was going on and shaved off a bit of the rain deflector where it was hitting. You can even see on my air intake the where the hood was making contact !

I had the rain deflector off at my track days but never looked to see if there was a hood gap. I'll remove it and see what it looks like.

For a mass production part, there's going to be some issues. I only care because the rotofab is on the driver side, so it's not getting a good seal against the hood. Passenger side I would have moved on.

My ZL1 has a slight driver side gap with the RotoFab but doesn’t have an effect on closing the hood. Mine has been on the car since 2020 so I would say the rubber gasket is compressed enough now.
