I use it on the highway because I find that a little trickier for downshifting for an exit mostly because I can't really hear the car most of the time. |

I know I’m late to this thread, but I was curious what others were wearing. Actually one of the many deciding factors for getting the A10 was I have to wear combat boots for work 90% of the time and I hate coming in early just to get changed into my uniform. I’m also in flip flops a lot outside of work so that doesn’t really help either. I test drove a M6 1LE a couple years ago with my work boots and had absolutely no feel for the clutch and hated it. Pretty cramped in the footwell area too. Wouldn’t be able to do that daily. I can see where the M6 would dictate shoe choice way more.

I have a pair of Puma Speedcats that I use on track days. I would like to try Pilotis next.

For those who track and want to stay out of ABS, shoes do seem to make a difference, at least for me.
With the shoes I had been wearing (cross trainer style with thick soles - think New Balance 608 white) I could not feel the ABS through the pedal and the only hint was in what I could feel through the steering wheel or tires. Upon switching to NB fresh air style (much thinner sole) I was able to feel it in the pedal now. It's still not as obvious the "gravel road" vibration you feel in many other vehicle brands, but it's a bit easier now. |

That seems to be the tradeoff with driving/racing shoes. Driving/racing shoes aren't the most comfortable shoes for walking around all day. But they do make it easier to operate three pedals.

I was wearing a pair of Hey Dudes when I took my car to the dealership this morning to have my front passenger MRC strut/shock replaced after being hit on the front fender. They are quite comfortable and worked well with my three pedals. That's the first time I've worn them to drive my Camaro or any other manual transmission car.

I like Vans. They are meant to give you good board feel, so I can feel the clutch really well.
