10.4@137mph for my ZL1
With the drag strip in Phx closing soon I thought I’d see what the car could do with some MT drag radials on it. Temps were 79-77 degrees and DA was 2800-2700’
Worked from 10.8@136.2 with a 1.9 60’ to a 10.4@136.96-1.65 60’ before I left, running 62% E. Ran a hellcat that was doing hellacious burnouts and it was close with him out 60’ me by several tenths to beat his 10.8 to my 10:6 but had almost 8mph on him. After watching him I decided to lay into the burnouts a little more and dropped 2 tenths on the sixty foots as well as the 1/4. I would think with 60 degree air and 75% E maybe we could get close to 9’s but I was happy with the results knowing I may never get to run that track again. Finished up going against a regular drag guy with an older muscle car and full big tire slicks there for the regional event and got the win with a .080 light vs his .234 light and my 10.4@136.83 vs his 10.6@128.43. LT’s, pullies, cam, ported tb, bg, ported stock blower, tune, fat tires up front. Very fun night!!! Car leaves good now and pulls HARD!!! Running in tour mode but with all Nannie’s on. Am I leaving time/mph on the table? Last edited by dbs1; 04-23-2023 at 04:54 PM. |

Is that the original oil pump in your ZL1?

Nope. Had to rebuild the engine recently and besides the cam we dropped in a new Katech pump.

Pardon my ignorance, but are we supposed to put our cars in Tour mode when we're at the drag strip?
Nice times, btw and sounds like you had an awesome night

Some do, I guess with the Zl1 it softens up the suspension, that allows the car to possibly hook a little better.

Yes 10.40 is hauling the mail since most stock Zl1s run mid to low 11s stock.

Only the suspension (in Settings), not the drive mode itself.

Congrats man, sounds like a great night for the Camaro's. I have a 19 ZL1 with CAI, lower 18% pulley, headers & cats and HP tune on a Hoosier tire and been 10.7's @ 134. Just had a new Fore fuel system installed and going either ported injection for E85 or a meth system and going for some low 10's at least. Love seeing these good numbers on the Camaro's.
