Glad I did the service.

I wish I would have grabbed a picture but forgot. It was not quite that bad. More like a thin level layer.

As far as I can tell, 19352759 is NOT for an LS differential!

I would challenge the dealer's knowledge.

Well I'll be dipped...

Went to my trusted old dealer and got the same answer: It's 19352759.

The E-Diff is not a limited slip in the traditional sense, the clutch packs are in the ATF control circuit and not the differential housing, using a LS oil will not cause any harm but it's not required. I use Mobil1 Delvac 75W-90 non LS in my 1LE to good effect, that and true synthetic gear oil doesn't stink. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The clutch pack is actuated by an ATF filled mechanism, but it is nevertheless bathed in the differential oil. However, I can see why extra friction modifiers aren't needed since the clutch pressure is controlled electronically.

Good point. That is a classic control loop problem, where the control loop response frequency and the mechanical stick-slip frequency overlap.

It can be fixed in two ways, or a combination of the two. That is, speed up or slow down the control loop response and/or modify the transition from sliding to static friction using friction modifier. I bet GM knows what the optimal solution is, but that doesn't mean they will implement it.

I'm speaking from experience here, with touchy mechanisms and control loops.

That's what I do as well. If it needs to be high enough, I just jack the car up and, using the blocks, build a tire cradle under each wheel.
