Pretty tough to do a pad swap on these brembos, tap tap tap, swap, tap tap tap, walk away

Oh, it's quite noticeable if you have to brake hard in a panic situation or high speed braking, or even repeated hard stops, or hard stops in the rain. No question they produce far less dust, but there's no free lunch.

The reduced stopping power is quite noticeable at the drag strip but luckily you have a huge run off area after the 1/4. If you ever decide to go with something different that will give you back most of your OEM performance with about half the dust, look at the Carbotech 1521 pads.

A real easy solution to the dust with no loss in braking performance is as follows. Jack up car, remove wheel, clean wheel and barrel, if you’re anal like me polish said wheel and then apply 2 coats of your favorite ceramic coating. The dust will literally spray off with a hose if you don’t have a power washer. No need for harsh wheel cleaners.

That won’t stop the OEM pads from dusting to beat the band. I’ve done ceramic coating to every set of wheels I’ve ever run on the car, and agree it’s a no brainer. But the first step is to eliminate the source of the dust…

Agreed. The cleaner you keep them the easier it is to keep them clean 😅

I really haven’t noticed any major reduction at all. Lebanon Valley Dragway has a shorter than typical run off area so I’d know if they weren’t working.

It helps but doesn't last long, the ceramic coating won't last nearly as long on a wheel as it does on paint because of the extreme wear that wheels are subjected to compared to paint. So you'll be having to ceramic coat them every 3-6 months and honestly, wheels are a pain to ceramic coat especially the OEM ZL1 wheels.

I've ran PowerStop pads on the last 3 vehicles I've owned every one of them have noticeably decreased stopping performance, I decided not to run them on the ZL1. I doubt the pad formula has changed for the ZL1 pads but who knows. Again, there's no free lunch so there has to be a loss in performance as a trade off for the dust. The Carbotech 1521's fit somewhere between the OEM pads and the PowerStops and I prefer that greatly. To each their own as they say.

Maybe the rim is easier to keep clean but that stinkin' dust is getting all over everything else in the wheelwells and surrounding areas.

Ive used these on my 1LE and then the ZL1 now, I had a set on the shelf when I took delivery of the car. The dusting is dramatically reduced but you'll know the difference in the stopping power if you have to stand on the brakes and know how it behaved with the OE pads. The Z26 is fantastic on the street and in hard use.

I have the ZL1/1LE and have used the Powerstop Z26 pads for close to 3 years now with no issues. They dust very little and perform flawlessly for the street.

I relegate the stock brembo pads for track use only.

Just let him justify his purchase and let him move on.....
