I voted for the Camaro by ordering a ZL1.
The C8 is indeed an ugly car. I don't know how Chevrolet managed to make a mid-engine car ugly, but they did. The front half of the car doesn't match the rear, which is too wide. Mid-engine cars should be exceptionally graceful, but this one is not. |

Depends what you prefer. Putting styling aside. A ZL1 or any Camaro with a V8 will feel more raw and visceral and offer more driving engagement especially with a manual transmission. The C8 will feel more refined and offer mid-engine handling characteristics.
I went with the ZL1 when I was deciding and didn't regret it but since moved on to a Blackwing for other reasons.

Camaro, but i'd have to spend thousands to turn the styling back to 2018.

Since both cars are 2 seaters, I'd take the Vette Stingray.

I have had 42 Corvettes from C2-C8 since I was 18. My last Corvette was a '21 C8 HTC. The lack of a manual transmission in the C8 led me to the '23 ZL1 M6 Convertible.
So ZL1 over the C8 Stingray for me! C8 Z06 is out of my price range even without ADM.

I would choose the Camaro based on price as this is my weekend car.
My other vehicle is a $70,000 truck and do not need two really expensive vehicles. For a sports car in the 40+ k price range, very happy. Plus, my wife prefers the Camaro rover the C8. She drove in our friends C8 and felt it was difficult to get in and out of. |

Really depends on the model and how you plan to use it. C8 Z06 over everything for me personally. The ZL1 is considered more fun and engaging over the "regular" C8 and many say the regular SS (and obviously 1LE) models have a little more character as well.
I know a ton of C8 owners and have been in them a few times and most people agree its almost too good for a road car, which isnt a bad thing but it does make it almost boring unless you are really pushing it. I would take a C8 Z06 in a heartbeat though.
