We know there is two pumps and matching pans.. just need someone to compare the two.
As long as Gm warranty is paying, I am not touching it. My dealer was fine to install aftermarket part, but cautioned that any future engine failure would then have asterisk and risk of being denied. Soo.. GM warratny replacement it is. I'll drive it per expectation of a 650hp track capable camaro. At 3x cost of base camaro... i think GM had enough profit in there for cover future "oh shits"

Logically, the updated pumps are using stronger metallic compounds. As stated earlier, there was a change in the use of metal compound. If that's the case, isn't that a failure of material workmanship when the pump fails? |

The tensioner shoe breaks leading to timing chain rub is a problem that starts outside and works its way in. the more common problem seems to be the cracked stator, which is a problem that originates inside the pump, with no external damage. I believe katech uses a billet stator for added strength. The pictures always show this thing cracking where it is notched. This one has the crack there, and a few other cracks, as it appears to have thrown a few vanes: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=11 |
