2018 ZL1 1LE Front passenger side tire overheating
To all who may help,
I have an issue that when I'm on the track the, believe it or not, inside tire overheats causing excess tire wear and obviously high tire temps/pressure. The inside tire at the tracks I usually go to are the passenger side front tire. It is baffling me. Anyone know what may cause this? It's every single time. Thank you for all your help.

Alignment?
Re-bleed the brakes. I have found air pockets around one wheel before. Flush the system completely with 3-4 bottles. Do the outside bleeder, then inside, then outside again. Lastly, the front struts can work loose at the two big bolts to the knuckle. The paint on the ZLE struts I think is part of the problem. If they get loose (this happened twice to me) they change both the camber and toe as the knuckle pivots. You might feel a click through the wheel on hard turns. Use a breaker bar on the bolts until you are sure they are bottomed out.

Make sure you have a good, clear path for the air to go to the brakes. Is this a fast track or slow track? Does this track have a lot of left, hard turns where you turn left a lot but have to brake hard?
A number of people have started putting on the CT5 Blackwing air ducts as they are way bigger than the ZL1s. That would be an upgrade I would do now. EDIT: Said right turns when I meant left Last edited by Vigilante375; 03-24-2023 at 09:12 AM. |

Check the wheel bearing, if it is failing/binding that will create a lot of heat.
