The Camaro going away means nothing to me as I have bought my last new car. I will drive this one to the end of my time. GM going all EV by 2035 will be interesting to see. I currently don't see any EV's in my neighborhood and none of them have told me they plan on buying one. I believe they will only sell well for city commuters and not rural drivers.

I was surprised they were only getting two being a very large dealer. Good value at MSRP. Little chance I would have actually ordered one but certainly not at a that kind of markup.

I believe the reason is sales. Ford sells enough Mustangs year-to-year that it stays a profitable model for the company.

While everyone on this forum believes the 6th gen Camaro is a fantastic car, sales have been dismal. We could argue for hours why that is but from a business model it makes no sense to continue producing a car that isn't selling.

Or GM could have put it’s big boy pants on and actually COMPETED with Ford & Dodge for sales…! I know that’s a scary word to use in todays participation trophy society. But zero marketing didn’t help either.

This is sad news indeed. One of my high school friends had a '66 SS when it first debuted. I was green with envy and, although I didn't have two nickels, told myself I would own one someday. My first was a black/black 2001 SS LS1 that ran high 9s, and my second is my current car.

It's not everyone on this forum. It's all the car magazines and reviewers. They know it's a great handling car but the public wants more power even though it's fine where it is at.

But all that the general public cares about are HP and a straight line. If the Camaro has 700HP with a focus on a straight line then it would have better sales since the public says they want a great handling, manual, high horsepower vehicle but then complain that it's slow in a straight line....

The general public complained that there needs to be a affordable, manual V8 sedan that is decently fast with HP. Here comes the Chevy SS (not going to talk about the G8 since GM killed Pontiac when they were doing very well). That car was in production for what? 3 or 4 years? Great car but it never caught on.

The general public only wants a car that is prone to accidents and a car that has high HP, skinny ass tires from the factory (before they decided to make it a "wide body") and has had hardly ANY interior updates, just touch up's since 2011 or so.

My local Dodge dealer has 5 allocations but I wouldn't buy anything from them, they were asking $10-15K over on standard run of the mill Hellcat's.

Agreed, I miss the days when GM came out swinging against Ford like 1993 when the Camaro Z28 was released. After a decade of being dominated by the Ford Mustang, GM one upped them with the Z28 and took back the performance crown. Dodge was nowhere to be found in those days. LOL.

When i was looking at Charger hellcats last year, a dealer in the DC area (whom i had purchase history) offered close to 9% off sticker for a factory order. Same dealer is charging $5k ADM on those vehicles now.

When I bought my 2016 Hellcat, I got it for $62K, $7K under MSRP because it was a holdover that the dealer needed to move to make room for 2017 models. I came out great, but obviously this was all pre-COVID.

Probably not: They'll just dump the R&D money into more products for trucks for a while, which might end up being more profitable for them in the long run because there's a much, much larger customer base..

I will never understand buying a car just to park it in the garage/driveway. They cost too much just to be lawn art.
