At least under its current leadership and government regulations, I doubt GM is going to bring a 7th gen ICE Camaro to market.

We knew this day was coming and the reason I got mine delivered in May. Just glad I ordered and got mine just the way I wanted in time. Per the GM release Camaro sales were up 12.5% for 2022 compared with the previous year. For all of last year, GM sold 24,652 Camaros.

C8 MSRP was always token MSRP, covid or not. Your situation might be different due to your affiliation with a dealership, but no one is or was realistically getting these at MSRP - even now. GM wants a piece of the pie raising the price 6k. With the Camaro gone, there is no affordable performance car from GM.

Interesting, it says "End of a Chapter" (Chapter 6), not "End of an Era"...

Just a thought, but with Dodge hanging up the ICE Challenger and Charger, that would give Camaro and Mustang a MUCH larger chunk of the "ICE Muscle Car" pie, maybe, just maybe Chevy realized this...?

I would assume that Dodge could reverse course and start building ICE Challenger and Charger again.

I would add to this, most Mustang owners I have seen don't actually like the refresh. It seems more gimmicky than anything, with the exception of the Dark Horse, which honestly if you wanted the better drivers car, the Camaro still looks like a much better value.

Chevy has a good opportunity here but they've let the Camaro die without putting up a fight, so I doubt anything good will happen to the Camaro from here on out.

Even if this is the case, I'm sure there will be a gap in production. We would have seen something in the form of a mule or two, at least, if there was an ICE version coming soon. Even if they were just testing a new ICE drivetrain for a potentail gen 7, there are usually telltale signs of mules.

They could indeed, but I'm not sure what platform they would use. All the STLA platforms, save for STLA-Frame are already outlined as EV use. They could very well design an all new platform to accept the new Hurricane engines to allow for ICE utilization, but I imagine that would be more work (read $$$$) than they're willing to invest for only two vehicle. Vehicles that go against their stated future direction (EV).

If they can hold the MSRP where it is, they'll definitely be a FAR better value.

Good points. A friend of mine preordered a C8 in 2019 and got the first one sold by a local dealer in early 2020 for MSRP. Since Covid and the shortages caused by the pandemic, I haven't seen a new C8 priced anywhere near MSRP. My friend sold his C8 to another Chevy dealership six months after he purchased it for 30k more than he paid for it. At the time that dealership had not yet been able to get a C8.

And in reality the C8, even at MSRP, isn't the bargain Corvette's used to be. I purchased a brand new C6 3LT Z51 manual in early 2007 for substantially less than MSRP and it still cost more than my SS 1LE did when I bought it last year. Of course in today's money the C6 would have cost considerably more. And my Camaro is on a different planet in terms of being a so much better car than my C6 was.

I have a ZL1 on order. The MSPR is locked in, as long as the car is actually built as a 2023.

Watch this space...

You're not looking hard enough if you can't find a dealer willing to order a C8 for MSRP. Still a fantastic deal at the base price of admission. Corvette has never been about being the most affordable performance car from GM so I still don't see what C8 has to with this.

Where does it say this is a 2024 model? They’re not making any except in January. Sounds more like a 2023 extension to me.

Is it just me or does that preview look like the low ZLE wing we saw prototypes of?
