Mounting Supercar 3R tires- more difficult than "normal" tires?

The reason I ask is that some shops I've used in the past have had trouble mounting Competition tires (think NT01 or Hoosiers).

Do I need to worry about finding a shop that's experienced with R compounds to mount the Supercar 3R?

Thanks!
Larry

The shop I use has some fancy no touch tire machine. No problems with the 3R's at all. However, they did ask that I keep them in a warm area for a couple of days before I brought them in for mounting. Wasnt a problem since I kept them in a heated basement anyway. I could see it being a problem if they were outside in a storage shed where its below freezing.

My shop actually had more trouble mounting the 3 vs the 3R in the ZLE sizes.

If its a new shop I haven't used before I just tell them in advance what tire size I need to have mounted to see if they have issues. Haven't found one yet that couldn't do it, including a mobile installer. I did use a shop once that had a new guy trying to mount 305/30-19s and he had to get the manger involved who did it no problem. Also make sure they will use a touch-less type machine. I've had a shop damage my rims before.

I had a shop that wouldn't patch a 305/20, claimed it was "too big". They didn't want to or, or couldn't, dismount the tire and patch it from the inside. They kept saying "plug" and I said "noa a patch, from the inside", At a larger full service type of shop of all places. A 305/20 isn't some bizarre size any mainstream shop should have an issue with. The actual type of tire shouldn't be an issue but some of these places are quite clearly telling you that they don't want to do the work, your business, that you shouldn't let them get hands on your car, etc etc

No issues with mounting. This isn't a Run Flat tire like the Vettes have.

Thanks all. Sounds like it shouldn't be an issue for a properly equipped shop to install them. I ordered a set of 3Rs today so I'll find out for sure in a few days!
