Wait time for new ZL1 1LE

Hello! I'm hoping to order a new ZL1 1LE and was told by the dealer that the wait is between 1 and 2 years. Has anyone else encountered this? I know that's about in line with the C8 vette. I can't even put a deposit down until the dealer receives allocation which could be months I was told. Thanks in advance for any information!

Yeah, your chances of getting a new ZL1 1LE are pretty slim, but not zero. It will just take a lot of leg work on your part.

multiple dealers, hound the in transit system and call for cars people backed out of. It's a hustle to get one.

I found mine in transit on chevy's inventory online. Like bootss said, you have to check that a lot and call the dealers asking if they are available.

From what I have heard by dealers and online the 1LE's may be super difficult to obtain going forward. If you look on chevy.com, build a 1Le and do a inventory search for 2000mile radius there are currently 44 showing for dealers and 38 say IN TRANSIT. If I were you I would start calling all those dealers and see if any are available. I bet the in transit ones will be waiting to be delivered till the weather gets a little warmer due to the fact that those tires can crack when moved in low temperatures.

You are going to have to hustle to get a 1-LE. It's going to be a dog fight to get one of the last cars, before we enter the Brave New World made for us by our masters.

2024 1LE isn't happening? Is that confirmed?

The Brave New World (good Iron Maiden album) has been in the making for awhile

I have put an easy 20 hours literally on the phone calling every dealer on Chevy's website in the last 2-3 weeks. Every single one is a sold order, and getting an allocation for one by a dealer you are working with is like stated extremely thin. That's why there is a mad frenzy right now , people paying sticker and over for 2-3 year old one's with several thousand miles. I actually found one that just came off the truck at a local dealer that wasn't a sold unit, it had four cracked tires from sittin at Lansing during that recent cold snap. They had new tires on the way and i could have bought it for 3k over that day,but it was a zero option in Sharkskin and i have a fully optioned Rapid ordered through another dealer that has an allocation. It was tempting, bird in the hand deal since there is no certainty mine will get built. It sold the next day. It's not just ZLE's, build a pedestrian SS1LE and do a search, pickins are almost as slim for a 6spd. Dealers in CA are back to 5k over on those, crazy times. Fairly soon the other shoe will drop on the 24's, if they do offer a 1LE package on a ZL1 you will see used one's prices come back to earth IMO.

IMO.

Similar experience here in NorCal. Dealers with one on the lot were $5-10k over. In two cases, the dealer claimed they sold them at those prices, so clearly the market support for them is there.

Ordering was a similar story --every dealer was unsure and skeptical about when an order would get picked up.

I got lucky and found a '21 1SS 1LE w/ 4700 miles for $43k . . about $2.5k back of what it sold for new. . .

They only made 179 manual ZL1 1LE in 2021. If you want a manual one it's going to be very hard to find. Auto should be easier.

I am in a similar situation and its going to be really hard to find one. I placed orders with a few mid and high volume dealers in the metro detroit area last fall and none of the ZLE orders got picked. Almost all incoming inventory is spoken for and every vehicle is the dealer lot has an ADM. With 1LE package in constrain for a while and speculations in the forum that 2024 might be the last MY, not much time might be left if you want one.

Ordering one is like playing the lottery.
I have to say, dealers were very honest with me about allocations on the ZLE. They said "Good luck".
One said they could maybe get me a ZL1 but not a ZLE.

I got mine in transit off a truck, and unspoken for.
The minute it popped up on the dealer inventory I called and put a deposit down.
I was so quick the manager didn't even realize it was en route lol.

I’m assuming it’s all still supply chain related. I don’t have the greatest patience so ordering a vehicle that may not have all the options I want when ready to be built blows. With warmer temps here, hopefully they can crank out some ZL1 and ZL1 1LE and meet some requests for them. Wish for the old days where there were some on dealer lots to pick from.
