Soooooooo this is a dumb ass ? Be easy on me

Okay so I got the newly released ECS 02s from tire rack supposedly just as good or better than the MSP4s we will see. Anyway I’m finally replacing my stock bald ass front GY SC3rs in the front 7800 miles later. 😁so the dumb ass ? Is will these new front tires have ANY effect on my rear traction with Toyo’s during a full highway pull for the good? They toyos hook but does the front have anything to do with the rear ( probably sounds dumb but whatever)

I guess it would depend. I run Toyo with Nitto fronts. It's a straight-line car.

Cup 2’s are really great so far. Went with 315/30/20 on the back.

They felt "fine" on the rear though and/or in a straightline. On the back roads the car had what felt like a heavy push on the front end with those tires. Too that set of tires I had a hell of a time like no other trying to get tire dressing to go on them, they would streak and run and almost no amount of cleaners did the job. I had to use some mega Stoners bug and tar remover and they still never looked that good with any kind of dressing on them.

The SC3 are fine in the wet to be driven pretty reasonably at speed, they fail at raining/ponding/puddling/standing water though. They'll hydroplane at >40mph and try to kill you in those conditions.

Are you referring to the regular SC3 or the SC3r? I just bought a ZL1 and if the regular SC3’s are that bad I will replace them with the PS4S immediately. I was hoping to get 5-6k miles out of the SC3’s before spending more money but I dont want to worry about whether its raining or not when driving the car.

Advan Apex V601's are pretty good tires as well. They do as good as can be expected with 700whp

I replaced the stock GYs at around 9500 miles this time last year with PS4S. The only time I was comfortable on the GYs in the rain was on the 275 mile trip home from the dealer when I bought it. Got the PS4S from a local shop for right at $2k out the door. Their price was better than Tirerack.

Rob, I changed out the SC3s on my ZL1 shortly after purchase and put PS4S on it for the same reasons you mentioned in addition to better cold temp handling. I wanted to be able to safely drive the car year round. The PS4S ride a bit better and might be a little quieter, but they do give up a noticeable amount of steering response compared to SC3s. I haven't seen too many comments on the handling trade-off. If I tracked the car or drove it harder, I'd of stayed with the SC3s. If I were to do it over again, I'd of put 5k miles on the SC3s before swapping them out, especially since the cold weather is almost gone for the year and I try not to drive it on rainy days.

I have a '23 on order and plan on swapping the rims and tires between the cars.

I'm interested in the extreme contacts but on tire rack they're showing almost a inch less of tread width compared to the ps4s or sc3

Thanks for the reply. I may try to get some miles out of SC3’s. Living in Houston cold isnt an issue but we do get a lot of rain. Congrats on the incoming 23.

The manufacturers list the same 13 inch section width on 11.5 inch rims for the PS4's and ESC-02 in size 325/30/19.

When comparing the 305/30/19 tires, the ESC-02 is actually 3/10 of an inch wider than the PS4's according to the manufacturers.

The PS4 has a 12 inch sec width on an 11 inch rim.

The ESC-02 has a 12.3 inch sec width on an 11 inch rim.

Tire Rack shows the PS4's, SC3's and ESC-02 at the exact same width front and rear: 13 inch rear's and 12.3 inch front's.

Don't sweat the width's, they are all the same.

I am a fan of Continental, had them on my truck. People got the usual, but they were awesome.

Well I have, hopefully, a year on the factory GY tires.
