New member from Washington state with a transmission question

Hello I’m from Washington state and I’m happy to be part of this forum. I just joined and I’m hoping to be able to use all the knowledge here to help with a project. I recently purchased a wrecked 23 zl1 that I’m going to pull the motor and trans out of to possibly use in another project. My question is probably dumb to most people here but I’m having a hard time figuring out the exact model transmission that the car has. It’s a 6 speed manual but can’t seem to find information on the internet on what model it actually is. Any information on the transmission would be much appreciated.

Yeah I’m finding information on 16-20 transmissions but not much out there about a 2023. My local Chevy dealer couldn’t even give an exact answer. Are they different from a standard ss car?

ZL1 and ZLE both have the tr-6060, but the 6th gear has a different ratio

to the forums, Keith, hope you'll have a great time here.

Check out this thread started by fellow member Bumbleboy92 for more information on the Tremec transmission in your donor car, the first post in particular: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584316

The transmission for the ZL1 is the same for all year models. So information you find on it will be relevant no matter which year model you're looking at.

Only difference is the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE as mentioned with the 6th gear ratio.

Was going to say that car has more than transmission problems.

I have familiarity with TREMEC tr6060 and t56 swaps in older cars

Your 23 has a TR6060 but it’s difficult to use in swaps due to its integral bell housing/front plate, remote shifter and the non slip yolk output. All of these are fixable by expensive to do so.
Most guys sell them and use magnum t56s with aftermarket scatter shields.
If your swap is into an irs car your chances of being able to use it are better, but my experience is with gm a and f body swaps
