Yes! Keep the updates coming. Do you mind getting us a cold start and the car sound during idle.

Mad respect for actually getting the carbon fiber pieces painted. I love what you got done to the hood! Seeing the earlier pictures of where the exhaust was exiting had me unsure of how it would look when done but now that it’s done I’m a little annoyed that’s not how it comes from the factory. It’ beautiful

You could always build it with resonators and bullet mufflers to quiet it down.

Some pics of the install and progress.

Later this week, ZL1 Custom Painted Brake Calipers, along with GiroDisc 2 piece rotors, and G-Loc brake pads. And reinstalling last year's Pro Parts USA Custom Suspension (Custom Koni's) while we await our Pro Parts MCS Double Adjustable's to arrive and then off to the dealer for Alignment and 'hopefully' the GM AutoX eDiff tune.

The Katech motor is 'sooo smooth'... Wow! Cannot wait to get this on the track in a couple of weeks. Uploaded a quick 3rd / 4th gear pull on the hwy down in Mexico.

More updates to follow!

Best regards,
Dave
Is that carbon hood taller than stock? How much room do you have between hood and I.M?

Hey guys! Thanks, apologies for the delay in updates... we've been mad thrashing to get everything ready for next weekend's Optima Ultimate StreetCar shootout, at ThunderHill Raceway. We hustled the car over to MFR Engineering in L.A. to refresh the Aero package, and we'll pick up Wednesday to take up to Thunder Hill.

Have tons more updates, we're awaiting MCS Double Adjustable's custom valved by ProParts USA, so threw back on last year's ProParts USA Custom valved Koni setup. Brakes have been upgraded to ZL1 Brake Calipers front & rear, with GiroDisc 2 piece aluminum hat rotors.

Tons more items painted, interior race seats and rear seat delete completed etc... But got to hold off on pics until after Optima, want it to be a surprise!

Replies inline below, excited to share updates following next week, along with all new pics!

You got it! I'll be sure to get you a cold start by next weekend.

Thanks m6-lt1! We've been super impressed with the Anderson Composite's Carbon Fiber fit & finish. Will plan to tackle the doors after this weekend's competition.

Yeah... well about that... Doesn't really, ran the same setup on our Callaway and blew 106DB at SCCA Event. I have 95dB muffler/inserts that go in the rear exits for strict dB events. I'll send some pics at our first SCCA Pro Solo March 24th.

100%, that's similar to what I do as well.

Very mild raised center. I'll measure it and compare to oem hood in upcoming weeks.

6spdhyperblue, absolutely LOVING the car! The Katech Flywheel w/ LT4/LT5 Clutch/Pressure plate is everything I could have hoped for! That oem engagement and releast with the pedal, and the lighter rotating mass on the crank/drive train. No noise, and like factory day to day!

More to come fella's, but here are a couple teasers!

Best Regards,
Dave

Well, we're back from our debut event in the new build. Optima's Ultimate Streetcar Shootout at ThunderHill Raceway, in Northern California.

In now our 3rd year racing in the Optima series, and first in an entirely new build, I'm extremely pleased to say the Katech Camaro did not disappoint! As y'all have witnessed this has been a whirlwind getting this car ready for it's first showing.

While this all sounds like it was 'as scheduled', I can tell you, that we literally 'loaded the car' up from MFR Engineering in California, this past Wednesday night, on the way from AZ to the race track!

Our first laps in the car were during the orientation laps on Friday evening!

We came away from this event, victorious! Winning the GT Class, and coming away with our highest scoring event in my history competing with Optima, with 488 Points!

We were the fastest GT Car in Autox & Road Course, and 2nd fastest GT Car in Speed Stop & Design & Engineering.

We were also able to set the fastest lap overall classes on the Road Course! Going a 1:55.7 on Thunderhill East, with the Cyclone (the long east course).

The Katech Engine, MFR Aero, ProParts USA Custom Suspension, MSD Intake, Hurst Shifter, Forgeline Wheels, QA1 Carbon Fiber Driveshaft & G-Loc Brakes were a perfect combination and didn't miss a beat all weekend!

Thank you to all those that helped us get this ready in such a short period of time!

The Paint work done by Penske Rapid Repair, and Audio Package supplied by MTX Audio, didn't disappoint during the Design & Engineering judging!

I've attached some pics below of the car at the track.

Still have the Carbon Doors & Carbon Ceramic Rotors to install prior to the SCCA Pro Solo in 2 weeks, and SCCA National Tour in 3 weeks both in Vegas.

More update's to follow!

Best regards,
Dave

Wicked!! Congrats on the win!! That is an aggressively low splitter!! And the orange/black/carbon continuing into the interior is a great touch!

CONGRATS DAVE!!! This is Epic!!! I had no doubt you could do this but we both know that ultimately it is up to YOU as the driver to EXECUTE the plan. It HAD to be extremely gratifying!!! If you HAD to choose between what gave you the BEST Feeling was it the CAR itself or the Driver???

I KNOW for me personally it is ALWAYS about the journey and not the final result. The DESTINATION will take care of itself if ULTIMATELY the path is correct.
