. It wasn't really about visibility but just getting used to the car and positioning it correctly, always a similar process with each car I have driven. Visibility is one of those neverending topics, simply because there is no ultimate solution to the problem of people simultaneously wanting to sit up high in a glass fish bowl for high visibility while also wanting to sit close to the ground with the car enveloping them as their speed increases and as they take tight turns fast for maximum sports car feel. Indeed GM could have added a bit more glass and lowered the beltline a smidge, but those ships have sailed, and they aren't a major deal for anyone serious about driving a Camaro anyway. Close to 5 years in, this is still my absolute favorite car and I get the fuzzies whenever I sit behind the wheel and press the start button.

I haven't had any issues with visibility, and I'm still fairly new to the car. Maybe the 27 years in my 1994 Camaro helped prepare me for it.

The visibility is fine on roads and a complete non-issue on the track. It's only in parking lots or other tight quarters that you need to be more careful. Any I'll take this seating position any day over the mustang, as it definitely is more bouncy and feels like you are sitting ON rather than IN.

I did get a claustrophobic effect for the first couple of days I drove it (I had a Civic before this one) and it definitely felt like I was inside a small box. But I got used to it and I dont even notice now. I got blind spot mirrors on.
I only have an issue with visibility if I position myself at a certain angle on a median. I can barely see the cars coming from the small window next to the rear seats. Parking is good and going in reverse is not an issue with the camera |

I always laughed at people who drove a new Camaro, then bought it and complained that they couldn't see out of it. Really? Then they complained there was not room in the back seat. Really? Did you not check that out before you paid 40 to 50k for it. Visibility is a state of mind, drive it, love it and use your mirrors and back up camera. Stop complaining or just get rid of it. Geeezzzzz, it wears my old ass out with all the threads that have been started on this topic. I've had 2 Gen 6s and a C7, plus a lot of C5s, C4s. They are sports cars, you can't put huge windows for great viewing if you want a great looking ride. When I can't turn my head enough to look in my mirrors when passing or whatever I'm doing, then I'll buy a 4 door Caddy that goes fast. I still may do that, but it will be because that's what I want to drive.

Likely one of the biggest GM fans and Camaro fans on the site. Visibility in th Camaro is what is dreadful. As we’ve discussed since the Gen6 launch the Gen6 is by FAR the better performance car but, to use your word again, dreadful visibility, trunk space and rear seat seat room make the Mustang a far more usable car. This is why the Mustang has consistently outsold the Camaro and why the Mustang is enjoying one more Gen of ICE and we are not. And I’ve told the story countless times of how it happened and it isn’t lack of advertising because the Mustang has no ads either.

Live camera rearview mirror takes care of rearward visibility concerns.

I have no issues with visibility set my mirrors correctly no issues driving in an urban area even on Interstates with 3-6 lanes in each direction. Driven many vehicles and towed a lot of trailers with trucks in my life so far and in my opinion the visibility in the Camaro is not as bad as journalists and others make it out to be. There are those on here that won't agree with me and that is fine we all have our own opinion on it.
Someone mentioned the back seat and yeah that seat is pretty useless unless you know someone with no legs or a kid. EDIT: At the same time though my Camaro wasn't really supposed to be a people car its to have fun for me and and it does that job exceptionally. |

should have been a two seater with more storage
a full sized adult in the rear seat during impact is a death chamber |

Visibility concerns are over blown IMHO, unless you’re comparing to a Pacer. I owned my Camaro prior to seeing these visibility complaints on this forum and was surprised there was so much hate. The Solstice I owned makes the Camaro seem like an SUV from a visability perspective, so maybe I’m accustomed to something worse and complaints are relative to whatever you’d been driving previously.
When I sold my ATS for the Camaro convertible, both Alpha platform, I felt the outward vision was a downgrade, but only slightly so. I attributed a lot of that to the smaller rear window and the dark headliner vs the “parchment” colored interior on the ATS. I noticed this effect when I owned two successive CTSs. The 1st had an all black interior including the headliner and pillar trim. The 2nd still had black interior below the belt line, but all the trim above was a light parchment color. The 2nd CTS seemed a lot more “open” with the lighter greenhouse trim, and it felt as though I could see better, but physically there was no other difference between the cars. Since all Camaros have black headliners (I think), this lends to the confining feel. |

The visibility in the mustang is better than the Camaro. I’ve owned sixth generations of both. There’s just a little more greenhouse height in the Mustang, and slightly bigger rear quarter windows. The visibility in the Camaro doesn’t bother me, as I have my side mirrors adjusted as to not have any blind spots. As someone else has mentioned, you have to be a little bit more cautious in parking lots and other tight spaces, because it’s hard to see past the a pillar and side mirrors, although the mustang was only slightly better in that regard as well. Overall, I’d say the Mustangs visibility is slightly better everywhere, making for a better visibility experience.
