At least then you can have something real and not just google search answers.
Pauly, I’m glad u like my picture

Run what you think is best Drnick! I run 5w30 Lucas Synthetic in mine and haven’t had any issues as of yet. Keeping my fingers crossed though that the oil pump survives in my 2017.

Hi all,

My stock ‘18 ZLE had overall lower oil pressure than my ‘22 ZLE. I initially used M1 5-30 in the ‘18, but prior to selling it switched to the M1 0-40. It did seem to up the oil pressure a bit over the 5-30 oil, but never enough to make me feel confident that it was a fix for the low oil pressure that concerned me.

I never had an oil pump failure, but it was a concern always on my mind. The new ‘22 ZLE may or may not have an “improved” factory oil pump, but it’s consistently 8-10 psi higher across the board than the ‘18 was. Again, both cars were/are stock (‘18 had Green filter and TM TB, ‘22 just Green filter) and never tracked or abused on the street.

For whatever the reason, the ‘22 seems to be in a better “oil pressure” zone, in my mind, than my ‘18 was, so I’m going to stick with the factory recommended oil. FWIW, the ‘18 had about 7,500 miles when sold, and the ‘22 now has about 1,800 miles. Both cars always used the PF 64 filter.

I’m actually much happier with the ‘22. It runs much cleaner and I’m happy with the oil pressure.

JJ
