Hey Drnick:
  • I got 15K miles and I don’t drive hard, all street, no track.
  • You might consider/check with Costco on their ability to get you 305s. See my link here to what they hooked me up with.

Sad when a set of tires cost more than what I paid for a 6 year old 1969 Camaro RS

It depends on your alignment. You could get 3,000 or 12,000.

I agree alignment from the factory might be sketchy. My 18 1LE found out it was toed out on the front and wrecked the front tires and had to be replaced a bit earlier than I expected.

I'm at 4,300 miles right now and they are starting to get squirrely. No idea how people are getting 10,000+ miles on these. I have not tracked yet and do moderate pulls here and there on the street/freeway.

I got 2500 out of my factory R3 tires. I didn't reduce camber much, but last summer I otherwise replaced all of GM's negative castor, toe, steer ahead, and thrust angle with neutral/positive settings. The car is so much easier to drive around town and I haven't seen any wear on these Toyos.

OP - you'll be very happy with the PS4S. The SC3 is an outstanding tire, but it does wear quickly.

The PS4S have a 300TW rating and will wear about half as fast as the SC3.

BTW - If you care about the handling stay away from anything Nitto. They haven't made a decent street tire in about a decade. Nitto off-road tires are great.

The Nitto 555Rii drag radial is highly recommended at this site for straight ahead stuff.

I believe he was referring to Nitto's not being able to handle a corner. They are good in a straight line for sure.

I have a ZL1 on order. When it comes, I'm going to use the same strategy as with my Gen5 SS:

When the summer tires wear out, I will replace them with all-season tires. What will be the result? For street use, I will get improved performance on rainy days, particularly when the temp is below 50 deg or so. That covers many days here in New England. At the drag strip, there will be no increase in e.t. The all-season tires work just as well as summer tires on a prepped drag strip. On a road course, I don't know, 'cause I don't do that. Tire life with all-seasons will increase by a factor of two.

Thx for all advice, I just replaced with Michelin PS4S
OEM’s had 6000 miles, and still had life in them, but
I wouldn’t want to get caught in the rain with em’.
