Thoughts on build plan

Hey ya guys i have a 2022 SS1LE A10, I love the car hadnt planned on a cam this early (4400 miles on car) but the dealership said i voided the warranty when i put the headers and cai on. So then started readin all the horror stories bout the lifters. I do have the AFM turned off in hp tuners, and change my oil religiously at 4500 miles. In fact its getting ita first change this weds with the mobil 0w40 dexos 2 oil. I have the rotofab intake, 1 7/8 kooks high flow cats, mild tune with hp tuners, so thought id take care of those pesky AFM lifters.

Plan is

AFM delete,
BTR 220 cam (was going to do 225 but hear its really on the line for a stock stall)
LS7 lifters ( was going to go with johnson but told that BTR uses LS7 in their test engine and has never had an issue plus RPM uses them in their builds and never had an issue so why apend the extra money)
New BTR pushrods
New BTR springs
Do the upgraded trunion rocker kit
Dyno or remote tune with someone experienced with the cam dont know who would love it if someone were in Utah to do it.

Going to stay stock heads for the moment as funds dont permit but can always add them later on. Also looking at the MSD intake and a bigger tb in the future as well.

Would love to hear some of the experts experiences and if this is a solid plan or if im missing something. Sure id rather do the heads now and if it werent for me being paranoid bout these lifters wouldnt be a big deal id just save up. But this is my daily and only car dont need problems so just trying to be proactive.

Thanks for any thoughts, advice, and help 😉😁

Chances are pretty slim you'll have issues with the AFM lifters. I'd just save up and do it all the right way.

Coming from someone who had an LS7 lifter fail, go with Johnson and don't think twice.

I would do the gmpp lifters and spend that money on the katech CNC ($500). No valve job or anything.
It will at least get the heads flowing to the new valve lift point. The heads stock really flatline around .550 and don’t want to increase valve lift for nothing.

When the car gets up there in miles and want to do a refresh, I’ll pull the heads and get a vj and guides

Because GM LS7 lifters are prone to failure... documented across several forums (Camaro and Corvette) and many forum members can attest to this based upon their failures with these lifters....

Yeah I do want to have really good lifters in there so I think I'll change to put Johnson's in there. Probably upgrade to a C5R timing chain

Some get lucky with LS7's others don't. Morels are a good budget friendly option. I have had good luck with them in the past. Johnson's are obviously the best.

The reason why LS7 lifters are popular because they make setting up the valvetrain easier since the window for proper lifter preload is wider. With lifters like Johnson, the window is much narrower and in some cases custom push rod lengths are needed to get into the proper preload range.

I’ll make a wildly unpopular suggestion, leave the car as is and spend the money on a cheap daily driver. You’re about to go down a very dangerous path if this is your only car as you stated. What happens if you sink all your cash into the engine build and something unexpected happens like a blown transmission or something, and now the dealer won’t warranty it due to all the modifications???
