The best year Mustang that I thought was the best looking was the 1970 and of course the 1969 Camaro was the best of the 1st gens.

IMO hands down the 2020-2022 SS 1LE's. That's why I bought mine over a used C7 even. I was on the fence but all the options the 1LE came with, coupled with the same motor, a better 10 speed AT and its looks plus the SGM color were the closers. I love the Z51 C7 looks for certain, but a used one for the same price was 2015-2016 with 30-40k+ miles at the time. Factory warranty for 1st year or two was bonus

IMO "sporty car" and "muscle car" are oxymorons

its why I prefer the muscle car look (Camaro) to the sports car look (Corvette)

Best Camaro? Without a doubt the 1969. Had one of them too. This was my last pic of that when I used GR Auto Gallery to sell it.
how do you like the 69 compared to the new one?

do you miss the 69 at all?

it looks so awesome in your pic, must have been hard to let it go

I think the non-SS 20+ Camaro looks best, but of course I have no bias.

Is the 2020+ SS the sportiest looking Muscle Car?

New Gt500
16-18 1LE
16-18 SS
2023 GR Supra
15-17 mustangGT.

All above 2020+ front end looks muted to me.

I’d even take the 19 with a badge delete over them. No cap cuz I own an 18SS. Was looking at 2020 for same money/same miles.

Red Katzkin, ZL1 1LE 20” replicas, ProCharger and the front end…. 18 won out.

But technically New Camaro’s and Mustangs are still pony cars.

Sportiest “muscle car” 70-72 Chevelle.

I’m not biased though

Really hard to compare the two. My 69 had a fuel injected 502 and a 700r4 trans, vintage air, power rack and pinion, so it ran pretty good. It was a rotisserie restore with not much of the original 1969 Camaro left. It was pretty much a new 69.
Yeah, I miss it but there are a bunch of cars that I've owned over the years I miss. I could only have a couple at a time so something would have to go to get something else.
This is my list of cars I wish I could still own...
1969 Camaro SS
1969 Mustang Mach l
1970 Chevelle SS 454 (71 and 72 had too many taillights and not enough headlights)
1967 Fairlane
1967 Chevy ll
1932 Ford 3 window coupe

Those I would be proud to enter into car shows. They all were except for the Mach l. I really have a problem doing car shows with new stuff.

All have a much higher "cool" factor than my ZL1. My ZL1 is sort of like owning my 2016 Z06 convertible again...

No. The 2020 ZL1 1LE is the sportiest looking muscle car!

I like the look of my 2018 SS 1LE, but I would prefer the 2022 hood if that were workable.

It might be workable by getting a 2016-2018 LT hood and fabbing the 2022 vent into it. Lots of work, but it's doable.

Aren't all SS/RS/LT hoods the same size in all years, and only the ZL1 hood different due to the wider fenders? If so, a 2022 SS hood should line up and bolt on any version except a ZL1.

They will bolt up, but there are slight differences in how the "lines" of the rises on the hood carry over to the top of the front fascia. The lines on the refresh hood curve in more at the front, as I recall.

The main thing about this thread is that everyone likes the car they have. I see that as a good thing! Enjoy your rides!
