SS 1LE square track setup

Just picked up a 2018 SS 1LE. Looking to pick up a square set of wheels/tires, and have looked extensively at Apex's fitment page.

I was set on 305/30/19 with 19x11 et9/43.. But Arc8 and Vs5RS are both out of stock.

Any other suggestions for Camaro-specific fitment? Looked at 18-inch options too, but 315 square is pretty limited for tire options.

I'd go 19x11 et35 so you can rotate front to back. Apex sells the required spacers and you need +1" wheel studs.

I do have a set of Anthracite SM-10s in that size w/spacers and front studs if you're interested, $1200+ ship, in OEM boxes, in exc shape. If interested pm me and I can send pics.

Ok On my daily driving set up I use APEX SM-10 19 x 10.5 ET22 all the way around with MS4S 305 30 19 tires. They require centering rings because they are a BMW fitment but that's no big deal. I also use a 5MM spacer on front.

Well I am racing I use APEX EC-7 18 x 11 ET25 with 8MM spacers and centering rings with 30 65 18 michelin Slicks all the way around. I have also used AZENIS RT660 315 30 18 tires square before on these rims (200TW tire).

LOOK at my post 227 on the page link below. I have a PICof my car in that POST I DONT have MAGRIDE but I do have KW coilovers and they are a little bigger around than the standard strut setup was. YES they fit fine with 5MM spacers on front, That PIC is with my SM-1o APEX wheels on 19 x 10.5 SQUARE.

I have a set of C5V Forgestars in 19x11 square. similar to the apex roll forged(not fully forged).

And I agree with Dave. Look for a set of et35s and get a set of spacers for the front. It is annoying if you have to swap to street tires but will be cheaper than paying a shop to rotate the tires.

Yeah seems to be the best route. However now I'm thinking 18x11 and running 315s a couple great tires in that size but prices suck.

I decided to just grab some SC3 as I got a screaming deal on the OE sizes($1200ish OTD)

If your SM10 were black I'd probably snag those. Otherwise not a huge fan of that design. Thanks for the offer tho

How did you like the 315 18" square setup? that's my other option.

True. I will be swapping between the OEM 1LE 20s for street use, but not terrible...

I've been tracking for years with a true square setup. APEX 19 x 10.5 ET22 to use 305/30-19 G3Rs. Not listed as an option on Apex page because they're BMW fitment and they thought ET22 wouldn't work.. Still need to do the strut mod or camber plates and 5mm spacer. Centering rings not really needed if you put the lug nuts on correctly. This is known as the Provoste setup.

Why not go with 11" wide wheels though? IMO you're leaving some grip on the table by using narrower wheels than are optimal for the tire width. Using the Apex 26mm spacer has proven to be a non-issue.

A local just went from 10.5" to 11s on his Mustang (305 square RT660s) and immediately got quicker. I used to beat him at autox events by a decent margin and right after the switch we were neck and neck, when I asked what he did and he told me about the new wheels I was quite surprised and he said he was too, he didn't think it could make that much difference.

Just saying what I've been using for years. Never had an issue with 10.5 for various 305s. I just got a new setup to run 18x11 VS-5RS for 315s or slicks. Had to have plates and more strut grind plus 15mm spacer and longer studs

Just for next guy - SM10s are in Camaro variety. My SM10s are direct bolt on- bolt pattern and center bore.

For the 19 x 10.5 ET22 fitment, there is a bit of poke in the back. Does the suspension compress enough for this to be an issue, like the tire hitting the wheel arch?

If you run -2.0 camber or more on the rear then that poke will go away. I run about -2.9 degrees camber myself currently. If you lower the car at all from the stock setting that will also increases negative camber by itself.
