Did 2nd oil change - 11qts of oil came out? Put 10qts in and it seems low on dipstick
I had the first oil change done by the dealer at 1500 miles.
I changed the oil at 4500 miles and drained approximately 11 quarts. I re filled with 10 quarts of Mobil 0w40 esp x3. At 6200 miles the dipstick looks low. I put an additional 0.75 quarts and then checked the dipstick the next day after the car sat cold. The dip stick now appears overfilled. Thoughts? 2022 Camaro SS 1LE 6MT

You put in as much oil as the manual indicates, not how much came out. 10 quarts. The car may not have been resting long enough when you checked the dipstick and it read low at 6200 miles.
I put 10 quarts in every time and the dipstick never reads too low or too high.

With the LT1 dipstick, it can be difficult to get a consistent oil level reading. What tends to happen is when you remove the stick to wipe it before sticking back in to take the measurement, oil gets pulled up the tube walls and gets deposited high on the dipstick. The net result is a reading that is higher than actual.
Best way to get a true reading, based on previous threads on this forum (and what works best for me): 1) Let car sit long enough for all oil to drain back in the pan (overnight is best, but at least a couple of hours, longer if you just poured in new oil) 2) pull out dipstick, wipe it off, but DO NOT put immediately back in 3) wait 10-15 minutes for oil to drain back down the dipstick tube 4) stick dipstick back in 5) (optional) - turn dipstick 180 degrees 6) pull dipstick out and read it I added step 5 because I noticed that without this, oil on one side of dipstick will show lower than the other. Once you are able to get accurate and repeatable readings, you can use it to estimate how much oil to add when low (If your level is the bottom of the hashed area, you are 1 Qt low; 1/2 way down the hashed area is about 1/2 QT low). |

Question to the forum, has anyone checked their oil level with the engine idling? I installed an air to oil cooler, oil level shows full on the dipstick but I get an low oil warning light. When I check the oil with engine idling, I don't get any no oil in the dipstick. When continue to add oil the engine with oil (12 qts total), the low oil light goes away.
I am wondering that the extra volume of the large oil cooler drains back to the oil pan with the engine off giving a false reading to the dipstick, but when running and circulating, the sensor picks up that I am low on oil. Thoughts apprecreciated |

There is no reason to check while running. You will not get a good reading that way.

10 quarts went out, 10 quarts went in and I'm at the full mark although I did leave it drain for a while since it was a break in oil change.
Surely your cooler is going to add additional capacity to the system, but unless you underfilled the system why would you get a low oil light? What does the dipstick say? I'd try to find out where the oil level sensor is in relation to your to your cooler and if there is any starvation going on. The dipstick is telling you what is in your oil pan, so if that is filled then in my mind its either a sensor issue or something related to the cooler.
