SS 1LE vs. ZL1 suspension/brakes, etc
Other than the engine is there a difference in the track performance part? They seem to both come with the sames tires, brakes, seats, etc.

Have a look in the ZL1 info thread. There are many differences. Same tires - different sizes, for example.

The SS 1LE and ZL1 tires, wheel sizes and offsets are the same.

I can feel a difference in the chassis from my 18 1LE, its slight/minor but I'm just not certain where it's at though I'm sure it's something. Calipers are grey/silver on the ZL1.
My gut wouldn't say it's a 1LE with the LT4, there's something different in there (I think). |

Yes, since the ZL1 has more weight over the front tires, it's gonna feel different.

The A10 is pretty heavy also vs the M6. I have it in my '22 SS 1LE. I also have the BCD copper free brakes (398mm rotor) and they are alot heavier than the typical SS 1LE brakes (370mm). Driving my '22 and my buddy's '18 SS 1LE back to back, I felt the additional unspring mass dampened the steering feel. Maybe the bigger typical ZL1 brakes (390mm) also play a part in the steering and suspension response.

there's a fair bit of differences between the two.
saying the ss 1le is the zl1 without an lt4 is a pretty insane claim tbh

The brakes, from what I've read, are slightly bigger on the ZL1. Unless GM changed that with this whole copper free BS. The suspension is the same just tuned differently for the weight for the ZL1 and the SS1LE. I think the eLSD on the SS1LE doesn't have the same calibrations that come standard on the ZL1 but you can pay a few hundred $$ to get it. Again, don't know if GM finally made it a standard feature for the SS1LE. I believe PTM is the same as well, just tuned for the lesser power for the SS1LE. Body work? Can't remember if the body panels are the same as the ZL1 in order to fit the bigger tires. |

The question is how much these matter in the real world; they don't seem to be a big deal at ZL1 power levels but as power is increased, they will support more.

It's a fair bit of differences between the two. I just don't understand how people say "it's the same, except for a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k in differences" lol. So it's different. The above you mentioned are subtle changes but they all are diff. ECU tune, exhaust tune, gearing, brakes, brake lines (?) i've heard are diff but can't confirm, fuel lines, forged internals, diff eLSD and suspension set ups. I believe the 1le does have a HPFP from factory but all other fuel components are inferior. I do believe the fenders are different both front and rear between the ss platform and zl1. Of course things like the heat exchangers and all components that goes into the LT4 itself are massively different but for this comparison I guess we are ignoring the engine. The overall engineering that went into the two cars are vastly different to make the components work. And as above said, the LT1 platform requires way more up front $ to change out inferior parts to make big power where as the LT4 does not. With all that being said; both are great cars. Not trying to be a hater but they are 2 diff cars for a reason
