Hey Guys just ordered a 2023 ZL1 A10. How many miles clocked before I can mod it?

Or can I mod it right away? The mod will look something like this. (see below I just looked at the old invoice and copied it) I had this same set up on my 2018 A10, and it made 660rwhp and 648 RWT. Do I need to wait till I hit a certain amount of miles on my new one before modding it? Or can I do it right away?

Part Description GREEN BELT, ZL1 DAMPER, KOOKS HEADERS GREEN CATS, JET 180 THERMOSTAT GM 14 UP, PULLEY, FREIGHT ROTO FAB 17 UP ZL1, LT4 SPARK PLUGS, THROTTLE BODY ZR1, A/C BELT, WIDEBAND BUNG, WIDEBAND BUNG CAP, LT5 THROTTLE BODY ADAPTER, Dyno tuning 17+ GM ......I had this set up on my 2018 A10, and it made 660RWHP and 648 RWT

I would take it sort of easy for the first 500 miles, then change the oil and have at it

I drive mine home and pull the tune file and get started. Warranty is over rated as I’m so OCD I don’t leave it anywhere and let anyone work on it. If it breaks I’ll fix it! My 23 will be here in next couple of days and I have full exhaust, maggy 2650, and rotofab waiting on it.

I have warranty concerns and I didn't do anything besides a RotaFab and an axle back and I did those the day I brought it home on a 900 mile drive from Detroit. As far as the engine, tune, and washing away the powertrain warranty I wanted to get it 6-9 months down the road and >5K miles on it to ensure that it was all solid before I opted for anything else. If I do anything else it would be a tune for Ethanol and that's it. But like I said I def wanted miles on it and figure its not going to pull some wonky failure that ends up with a engine/trans/diff problem.

I'm at 1350 miles , and just started making 6 k pulls , changed Oil and Diff at 650 miles . I want my warranty and at least for now 530 to 570 rwhp is fine with me. (falls in the average for the LT4 ) from all the answers you received above about a 50/50 split , final dicision is yours.
Congratulations Happy Motoring

I would drive it at least a couple hundred miles, just to make sure the car doesn't have some sort of assembly problem. Some cars have catastrophic failures very early, and I would certainly want to make sure your car is not one of them.

Mark R makes a good point. My friend purchased a new 2022 Audi RS 5 and within 400 miles it was back at the shop getting a new transmission. Something was just wrong from the start and after 400 miles the car would not move forward when it was put in gear, but reverse gear worked.

I guess I should take my own advise! But I could wait to get working on my ZL1 !

1500 miles, by then the rings should have sealed, and you can go full throttle and check it over, I have 27k and 6 months left on warranty, I'm still paying on the car, so I'm riding the powertrain warranty out, then mod.
