Requesting assistance identifying a wire

I was performing a routine oil change and noticed quite an accumulation of leaves under the engine cover (2017 LT1). After vacuuming them out, I shone a light in the area and discovered that a blue wire harness near the front passenger side of the engine appeared to have been chewed by a critter. Unfortunately, something chewed the adjacent foam away as well.

Whatever chewed these didn't completely sever the connections, but as you can see, they're frayed. I patched them back together with some electrical tape to buy some time. Can anyone please identify this wire harness and perhaps a part number for a replacement? Also, can the foam be replaced?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's a fuel Injector. Cylinder #2 specifically...

+1, also to replace that foam you must remove the intake manifold

I wouldn't sweat the foam. Most folks that upgrade to a MSD or other intake manifold just leave the whole pad out. Best of my knowledge it is just for noise suppression and that small corner missing won't hurt a thing.

I would push/pull the red button and gently pull out the wires to see what kind of connector is on the end. Perhaps you can do a little splicing and restore a reliable connection with what remains... and put out some mouse traps!!

Good luck with the repair.

I don’t recall if the circuit resistance factors into the system control, maybe someone with better knowledge on the software can chime in. But if this is the case, you’ll definitely want to replace the complete FI jumper harness as previously indicated. A wire-to-wire repair will increase resistance in that circuit, and it won’t be injecting the fuel quantity that the system is requesting.

I can’t say if this is a critical concern or not, but something to consider and research.

The GM part# is 28397457
I found a used harness on eBay for less than $35 shipped
