v6 differential swap?

Idk where to post this to get the best advice, but I want to swap my current open dif in my 2017 camaro Lt 3.6 auto v6 for a LSD. I’ve heard it’s possible to swap it for the ss one but i’m not sure. Does anybody know a LSD that would work? An aftermarket if possible i don’t want the oem.

From what I've read here over the past couple years, there are no aftermarket 6th gen diffs (at least bolt-in), or gears, available. There are plenty of folks running very high HP 6th gens with OEM diffs, so I'm not sure why you have an aversion to an OEM unit. There are plenty of listings when I did a Google search for used 6th gen diffs, that's probably your best bet.
The only aftermarket thing that came up in a quick search I did was that Eaton makes a carrier for many cars/trucks, but the only one I found on that website was for a 5th gen (listed as a 218mm) Camaro. There are other "GM" type models also, but I didn't click on all of them to see if any were 6th gen compatible.
The ratio is different for auto vs manual cars as the auto low gears are so low that even a 2.73:1 rear can still launch the car. If you put a manual (something like 3.23:1 IIRC) in an auto, you're going to be WAY too low in 1st on launch and your MPG is going to go to crap!

It's 2.77:1 for the A8 (except when mated with the I4 engine where it's 3.27:1) and 2.85:1 for the A10.

Note, the 2.85:1 ratio was only used in the eLSD, just the ZL1 A10 coupes and the SS/1LE with the A10 had the electronic diff. SS or LT1 models with the A10 still have the 2.77:1 ratio limited slip diff like the earlier A8s did, as does the convertible ZL1.

I knew it was 270-something but was too lazy to look it up! Thanks for the correction! Wasn't aware the I4 used a 3.27:1. I guess the OP could use an I4 or M6 version diff, but his MPG is really going to suffer! Plus the speedo would be off. If it were me, I'd swap for an A8 LSD SS diff and be done with it!

I have the lsd on my V6 manual. Seems to work much better than the GM Torsens from the last and the “mechanical” lsd from the Mustang GT I came from. Anyone know what kind of lsd they use for the non-electronic lsds?
