How reliable have your lt1 engines been with bolt ons?

Recently did simple bolt ons like:

Speed engineering headers
Rotofab intake
Flex fuel sensor

And I’m currently finishing up my remote tuning process with Gpi! Car feels Awesome!

Of course maintenance always coming first as I do my oil changes every3k miles , check filters and clean/replace. And I don’t drive like a fool all the time.

That being said. How many of y’all have had big issues with these lt1 engines that have similar bolt ons ? How reliable are these engines

I haven’t modified mine, but you’ll find plenty of posts from people who cooked wiring harnesses with headers.

In terms of reliability, 60k+ miles and all I have done is change the oil and buy tires. It wouldn’t surprise me if this cold snap kills my battery, and I’ll probably need new brake pads fairly soon, but the motor is rock solid.

With the bolts on you mention above, you should be safe... probably around 450ish whp and torque somewhat near that. A tune is a must for sure and you are doing that. However, when you boost the LT1 motor, that is a entirely different game. The pistons are the weak link on the LT1 motor (non ZL1), so guys will go with forged pistons, rods, and a different cam usually.
It is all about chasing the HP/Torque for some guys/gals. Usually, the higher number, the more considerations need to be taken for sure. Others look at warranties and reliability as a daily driver, so everyone is different.
My suggestion if you plan on more mods in the future, reach out to some of these guys on this forum, as there is a wealth of information from these people. Normally, they have already done the mod you are looking to do in the future.

If you have an A10 , disable the AFM , by
purchasing a Range Technology AFM disabler, keeps motor in V8 mode . Problems can occur , like lifters , cam , torque converter and transmission . Have one I used briefly on my 22SS and C7 ZO6, before I sold the cars, ZL1 not needed. Updated version half price if interested.

This is definitely a recurring pattern. if you install headers you need to check all the posts, as even people who thought they were careful enough have ended up with heat problems and wiring damage.
This probably requires both adding shielding and moving wires as far away as possible.
