I did the flex fuel sensor and kept everything else stock... +90 Whp for ~$1600
Best ponies per dollar value out there. Check out the dyno plot on my user page. |

Do you have to change your fuel system?

Ive heard from many reputable shops and tuners playing the e85 game with the LT4 on the stock fuel system is playing russian roulette. You will have to mix E85 and 93 to get the right mix of e30-e40 which is a major pain in the a$$
Curious what others have heard |

Mixing E85 down is a bit of a pain indeed, but I'd say it's minor, see also this thread for approaches and solutions that make it easier: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611877

The same way flex fuel equipped cars from the factory pass emissions.

For that matter, I would bet the more ethanol content, the cleaner the emissions would be making it even easier to pass emissions assuming the car has been tuned properly for the additional ethanol content.

Yep..if you do some searching there is info floating around where a shop did a nox test on a car with catless headers running E85 and it passed.

I think this all depends on how you want to use the car. For me, for now, I'm doing the intake for the blower noise, an axle-back for the exhaust sounds, and I've wrapped the car, tinted the windows, and done a few other cosmetic things for the looks. Until I get bored at the 650hp level, I'll enjoy the car like this.
I'm enjoying reading about the other suggested mods though. Seems like flex fuel is the way to go for easy power without huge expense.

Not to hi-jack the OP's post here but as far as E85/mix. I'm looking to do the same as it seems like a lot to HP with little effort and the prices seems big bang for the buck. I was talking this over with my brother in-law on Christmas Eve. He owns an auto shop here in town and also drag races locally at National Trails Raceway in Super Street class. He mentioned that E85 will crystalize in the intake ports, also maybe he mentioned something related to a thing called reversion? Not sure, we were also talking about 2" long tubes vs 3" long tubes. I have no clue about this stuff, just was wondering if anyone else running E85 knows.

Not sure the russian roulette is a fair analogy. Also, blending fuel is easy. My bluetooth flex fuel app and gauge provide me the current blend %. When i go fill up, i use a flex fuel calculator app that tells me how many gallons of each pump to use, in order to hit the targeted blend. On the contrary, every tuner i have spoken too, says better fuel is what our cars need, being they will see KR even with 93 fuel... so doing an E30-E60 blend helps tremendously, burns cooler, and adds great power...
