Remote start questions
Can anyone let me know if it is possible to get the heat coming out of the vents when you remote start the car? Same with the AC? When I remote start it, the only way to get the heat or AC coming out of the vents is to go into the car and press the ignition button.
I have went into the menu, and still nothing. Any help will be appreciated. |

The car should remote start to whatever setting you had it on before you last shut it off.

Yeah, interesting decision from GM.
My wife's Traverse does a more logical thing, upon remote start it blows max heat (and turns on heated seats) in the cold and max A/C when it's hot outside, regardless of previous A/C settings. Then, once the car is turned on from the inside, both the climate system and seat heaters deactivate. Also, unrelated, but its seat memory recall buttons are more logical as well, one just needs to press them once and the seat moves into position, while on the Camaro I have to hold the button until the seat stops moving, and there's no chime either. Maybe these design teams should talk more to each other

I thought that there was a setting in our menu for that. Because I remember setting it, but it never seemed to work for the air or the heat.

My driver's seat moves forward into position and the mirrors adjust when I start my 2017 Camaro 2LT RS. When I turn off the car, the driver's seat moves all the back automatically for easy exit. This is dependent on the settings of either remote #1 or remote #2

Say you want to move the seat to position #2 manually, you now have to hold the button down as long as the seat is moving, or it'll stop midway. Not so in our GM SUV, on that one you just press button #2 briefly and the seat moves into position, regardless of key fob or auto settings.

That's not how you worded it the message that I quoted. You only stated that you had to hold the button down.

from my experience, it has always remote started to the previous climate control settings.

Even if I have the heat set to max before I shut off the car, it will not blow out the vents until I go inside the car and push the ignition/start button. It was the same in my 2016 2SS, and now in my 2019 ZL1. It never bothered me before, but now it does. In the summer it would be nice to remote start my car to cool it off, and in winter (yes, I drive it in winter) it would be nice to just get into a warm car instead of having to start the car, go outside and push the button, it kind of defeats the purpose.

My car (2017 2SS) climate control blows at the last settings that I had the car at.
Now, just to be clear, the car won't start the climate control running and blowing air until it warms up a bit. So I would check what the car is doing near the end of the 10-minutes of time of the remote start. |

+1 on Spaceme's input; I don't think you'll have much heat coming from an overnight-cold engine if you happen to step inside the car after only 30-60 seconds of remote-start warm-up time.
Another thing: I can't say this is correct with 100% certainty, but what I want to say happens with mine is when the car remotely, I don't seem to recall that the lights on the climate control buttons will illuminate individually -- i.e., with the specific settings I had left it on when I shut down the car -- UNTIL I've actually pressed the brake pedal and the start/stop button. SO, between the two above factors, you may be getting into a remote-started car that simply hasn't started blowing warm air yet, AND (w/o the lights) it looks like it isn't doing what you wanted it to. And I'm certainly not disparaging your powers of observation, but this is how mine seems to function, and I remember I thought it wasn't working right in the beginning, either.
