Yeah, and the balancing act comes when the IPW starts to get up there…so you tweak up the rail pressure which helps IPW…until rail pressure falls off… ugh!

I've heard from a tuner, dialing down rail pressure on the high side isn't the best idea because the system is designed for 2900 psi or whatever it is. Something about the atomization of the fuel may change at lower pressures. Your thoughts?

Depends on the injectors being used. The LPE +52% injectors, for example, were designed to work with the 2175 psi rail pressure. And while your tuner is not wrong about atomization, getting the right volume is the critical factor IMO.

Right on, good to know. Figured it might depend on the hardware

Most of the large injectors on the market are fine running lower pressure. The XDI +65's for example are recommended to be ran @ 2600psi or lower. The FIC +30's up until recently were only flow tested to 2500psi. So based on what I have experienced as long as the System is commanding LT1 pressure(2175) or higher, most injectors will atomize properly. I have even discussed this a bit with Pray Performance and even posted a video of him discussing this in the past. He uses the +30's with LPE DI pump on bolt-on cars and lowers rail pressure to take strain of the fuel pumps. It works perfectly in certain situations.

Plenty more results to come. King is going to do some tweaking on the ZL1 and we are going to see how far these +65’s will go being pressurized by a LPE HPFP and 32% cam lobe in the C7Z.

Yep...it's all a balancing act with the DI stuff. Obviously we want to run more pressure if possible being it lowers IPW's, but I was just wanting to point out that the bigger injectors are designed to be ran @ lower rail psi. That doesn't mean they won't work at higher pressure. We have seen one set of FIC +30's run fine at 2900psi and another set misfire and needed the rail turned down. The XDI +30's I installed in my SS seem to work fine @ 2900psi and they have flow data for that psi.

His car recently went 6.2 60-130. Full weight on the 20" forgelines.

Nice. Just got my Dragy in the mail. Just need some sunshine and warmer temps LOL, and I’ll get some runs in.

I hear that!! Unfortunately, winter came early here so the cars are hibernating until March-April unless we get a nice warmup and a little rain to clean the salt off the roads.

Ok, so how did you get traction in 50 degree weather haha?

We have 50s here this week. I’ll try to figure out the Dragy set up and get out there. My DA here is awesome.
