Thanks for the response. I found that thread, but I do not need the whole string assembly mechanism, just the small black plastic clip that attaches the string to the glovebox. The part number you referenced doesn't have a picture, so I'm not sure if thats it.

First time I changed the filter on my 2016 the hook broke. Fortunately there was enough hook left to allow me to still hang it on the pin. As a regular maintenance item, the cabin air filter swap seems like it could have been made a little more user friendly!

Yeah, sorry, I'm just another forum user, so I can't exactly hit my storage shelves and check it in person At $10 a piece I'd just order it and cross my fingers, but I'm sure a local dealership's parts department would be happy to help you out.
