Different oils bad?

Well I ordered what i thought was the “emissions 0w40” online but they sent me the “super car 0w40” i know they switched to calling it supercar but since i only needed 6 quarts and had 4 of the emissions on the shelf can i use them together? Nothing changed but the name correct?

There’s a thread discussing the name change somewhere. I think it’s just a name change and nothing more. I’d definitely use up what you have especially since it’s the same weight.

If it's all Dexos 2 then it's all good.

I don't have enough of the original for a full oil change, i have 6 and 6 of each.

That's a good point, the OG 0w40 "emissions" one, Dexos label looks different than the "supercar" one, that's some of the confusion...

You should be okay cig82 as long as it’s the same viscosity. It’s not rocket science you know!

Don’t overthink it. As the above posters mentioned, if it’s the same viscosity and dexos 2, you’re good. It can even be different brands. That being said I’m pretty sure the super car and esp oils you have are exactly the same, just new branding.

When I die, I can’t wait to ask god if it even mattered whether or not we used dexos oils.

It wouldn't even matter if they were different brands as long as they're the same weight.
