Yea I had 3 dealerships working on a ZLE allocation and they knew about the others … all had $500 refundable deposits and once I received an allocation the other 2 refunded my money. Best way to go today to guarantee yourself an order in my opinion. A few dealerships had non refundable deposits and I passed.

Both places I placed order for were $1,000 refundable. Good to know I am not the only one who thought ordering at multiple dealers might be a good idea.

I figured I'd check out my settings in the MyChevrolet app, but, it simply wants me to add a vehicle and shows me nothing else.

I think I'll leave it this way.....

Ordered a Camaro on 9/20 and agreed to pay $1000 over MSRP because they said they had better allocation than anyone else and charge over sticker for that reason. Gave them a $500 deposit. Found another dealer a month later that had one in transit and was not charging over MSRP took delivery soon after.

Have been trying to cancel my order with the first dealer since 10/11. They keep saying they will but still no deposit refund and keep getting update emails from them on my “order”. BTW a month and a half later they still don’t have allocation or an order number. Submitted a charge back through my bank for the deposit yesterday.

That long and they never provided an order number? Some of these dealers are laughable.

I'm still fairly new to this so take this advice FWIW - is there any way you could contact Chevy directly to cancel the order instead of going through the dealer?

I don’t think they ever submitted it to Chevy which is why they have no order number. I found out later that there were eight orders ahead of me, but kept telling me “I would be jumping the line due to the options I selected”. I paid them $500 for a piece of paper essentially.

I think they were just keeping my order in their system and were going to submit it once they actually had some allocation. The whole thing is shady and the fact they will not give me the deposit back makes me very happy I did not go through with this order.

I'd at least go through Chevy chat or something similar to see if there's an order in your name, just to confirm. Just an idea.

Chevy chat referred me to the sales manager. They cannot look up orders without the order number.

Leave them a negative review on google and tell them you’ll take it down when you get your deposit back. Might work.

There is a report in another thread that GM is flagging people who are placing orders of the same vehicle with multiple dealers.

Not sure if its a real issue only after the order is accepted by GM or if its Canada specific.

The guy I put my order in with at Carl Black was no longer working there two weeks later and they had no idea what happened with the order he put in for me. Also, when I went back they wanted a $1000 deposit to re-place the order, up from $0. I did not do that.
Jim Ellis had a $500 deposit they requested. They told me to expect around September or October due to delays. Still waiting fingers crossed on an October delivery.....

I’ve still got my two orders in. Just waiting for the first to be picked up and then I’ll cancel the other before it gets past 1100.
