Yeah, but they are having issues making Camaros at all at this point, and it’s pretty clear that the Camaro is a VERY low priority for Chevy. I just don’t think they’ll bother. If they were going to make one, I think it would have been announced already. Dodge is having similar issues with their special editions and had to cancel plans to even display a prototype at SEMA.

I feel 99.99% certain that GM would not let the Camaro bow out without a special edition.

If so, you’d think we’d have heard about it already considering 2023 is supposed to be the final year of production. Or are you expecting a final small run of 2024 cars that will all be special editions? I know Ford did that with the Focus RS.

I may have missed it, but I haven't seen a reliable source verify that it's being discontinued after the 2023 model year. My understanding is that it's being discontinued after the 2024 model year. I haven't kept up with recent developments, but if it were 2023, I feel that GM would've announced it by now.

I have a nephew that works for a company that does auto show displays for a number of the manufacturers. He has the GM account and when my wife told him I just got a 2023 ZL1 he said I got the last year they're getting built. I'm thinking he knows a little more than here say.

I'd bet on a '24, they're still making the Caddys that use the same assembly line and if '23 was the last year you'd think they'd say something by now.

I guess it's good for used sales though, it's hard to believe people are paying near msrp for used Camaros when they can be ordered and more recently even found in transit or on lots without ADM.

The car is getting older but what needs updating? I'm not sure I can think of much tbh. Still better than a new Mustang.

Agreed.
No offense to anyone, but of all the times over the years that I've read on auto forums that someone knows someone who has an inside scoop, not once has it turned out to be accurate.

We're gonna find out shortly. There is a member on here that recentely took delivery of a ZLE, clearly he has friends in high places( good for him) that told him get one now if you are considering one. Again, we on here care far more about these that GM does.

Yeah, I guess the question I have is this- Why would they release a Collector Edition? They are selling all the cars they make, so it won’t increase sales. There is no 7th gen coming, or the could release a Special Edition to announce that it was coming. They already have a halo car on dealer lots. So I just don’t see how GM profits from it.

You’re not wrong, but still I think it’s likely GM will still give a wink and a nod to the faithful that have kept the brand alive this long. But they’ll do it in THEIR time, not OURS.

GM's Q3 earnings just hit a record $41.9 Billion in revenue. Like it or not, this is capitalism and the goal is to make money. If they weren't making cars people wanted, then the numbers would paint a different picture. Sports cars attract attention to the brand, but those aren't the sales that bring in the big profits. They often sell more Silverado's in single month than the number of Camaro's sold in an entire year.

It's back to pre-covid levels, indeed a record but barely edging out previous good quarters and even that is mostly because of inflation/unit price increase. These graphs put gm's performance into perspective.

A "special edition" is most likely to be a graphics laden appearance package, which would be incompatible with 1LE package. So the OP would have to choose between options.
