Camaro prices
Okay, bought a new 2015 Camaro 2SS/RS in 2015, kept the car 5 years and sold it about a year and a half ago for 33k. Paid around 35k for it. had 7800 miles on it and was as new not even a rock chip. I kind of miss it and am thinking about buying a 2018, or 2019 2SS with very low miles. I'm trying to figure out how much the newer Gen 6 cars went up in price over the gen 5's, excluding the crazy covid car prices. I don't want to pay a 10k premium due to covid pricing. Looking for best guesses if prices settle back down to normal.

Used car prices won’t go down until new inventory goes up, which probably isn’t anytime soon. Especially with Camaros being at end of life.

My 19 1ss I bought new as shut down was happening is selling used about 6 grand more than I paid for it. Mine was 33k before tax. A brand new one equipped the same is selling for 13k more than I bought mine at dealers around me. A new 1ss convertible are priced are 25k higher than I paid for mine around me. Why the verts are priced so high it is beyond me

I've been looking for a specific MDX Type S. There were a few I inquired on that dealers were asking far to much. I've been getting emails/texts back asking me if I'm still interested as they are now willing to drop their prices to reality. |

New inventory levels are starting to tick up slightly which is allowing folks to spend "the same money" on new as they would on used. That, in turn, is allowing the used values to come back down a bit. The big national used car companies have acquired significant inventory and are no longer needing as many vehicles, so another shot to the used market. The Camaro is a niche car, so there's a lot of variability in what you'll pay for new or used. In the end, buying a car like a Camaro is based almost entirely on emotion and very little on the pure financials. That leads to overpaying... |

This one ZL1 is almost at a price I'd consider going to get it, (looks like it dropped another $1k) so I took mine to my local Chevy dealers to see what they'd give me for it buying it outright. Their offer was right in line with the online auto sales places. I know my local Chevy dealer doesn't have a glut of used Camaros. If you overpay for a used Camaro now and are OK with that... Great.... But that's on the buyer, because you don't need to anymore. Last edited by jamala00; 10-27-2022 at 07:22 AM. |

The prices are starting to comes down in my area, especially if they have miles on them. They are also sitting a lot longer. The ZL1 will hold its value a little better but it is not immune. I have 18 ZL1s available for sale within 50 miles of me. A few months ago there was may one or two listed at the most.

used isnt worth it, especially with low mileage but at all mileage points. If you want one with low mileage just order new, otherwise wait for used prices to drop. I was not paying 8 k over stick for a 21 with 18k miles

Used car market is definitely softening but its going to be a while until it falls back to the good old days. Limited new car production is not helping the buyers either.
