15” conversion question
I was wondering how much a 15” rear brake and wheel conversion actually helps.

How much power are you making? My 16 SS made over 850 rwhp and I ran 17" Street R. Ran 9.41@147 w/1.35 60ft, after I sold it the new owner went 9.33@149 w/1.37 60ft. He was 50 to 60 lbs lighter then me on a very well prepped track. On my new 2022 we are making 707/662 and went 9.86@142 on a RC Drag Pack with MT front runner and Hoosier 28x10-17 Slicks. Put you money in other mods to make enough power to need them. Just my humble opinion.

I have a 2017 SS and I'm making roughly 710 and 770 torque at the wheels on a conservative pump gas tune with water meth. It weights 4120 lbs with me in it. My 60ft was 1.39 and 9.89@139.50 and a 1.44 and 9.88@140.49 on 17 ET street R radial.

Nice numbers, we are working on the launch timing on mine for this weekend to get mine into the 1.30s. I don't think you'll see any pickup and for sure not worth the time and money to switch it out. It's pretty costly to change so I'd stay where your at and have some fun with it. You have a great running ride. What are your mods?

I'm hoping this weekend we'll work our way into the 1.30s and if so we should be 9.70s. We are getting killed with the freaking torque management right now.

Would lightweight brakes be more beneficial to him over the 15" conversion at this point of his build ?

I’ll sell you my budget 15” conversión with brand new AC Delco rotors and calipers already shaved . It will bolt right on . All you need is the rear toe rods. 350.00plus shipping . I have the rear aerospace brakes now so I do t need them. This kit is basically the Gm 16” conversión with the calipers already shaved .
