No start please help!

I was driving the car to work yesterday morning and in the middle of the drive the service suspension light service theft light came on and all my gauges died.

I drove it home and parked it in garage. It restarted twice for me with the same lights on when it started. My service stabilitrak is also on.

Last night it would not do anything at all when I opened the door no chimes no lights. So I checked the bcm fuses in the box and number 26 was blown. 10a little guy. Replaced that have lights and chimes

The key fobs both still work. I can get it to turn over once with the key fobs in the cup holder but it won’t start. Still says service theft. I can’t sccesss the key relearn mode either by putting g the key in door and following the manual.

Beginning to think there is a short somewhere possibly rear harness or something I have noticed people pointing to harnesses and corrosion. I had a blown hvac fuse too at one point that caused my head unit of the hvac to die. Currently waiting on a replacement there too should be here tomorrow.

Do you have longtube headers installed?

I don't have a pic, but you are on the right track. The longtube headers are cooking your wiring harness. From what I understand, the fix is to loosen the passenger wire harness, then, zip tie it away from the headers. I have read people also wrap the wire harness in heat reflective material. As long as the headers have not critically burned the wire harness, this should resolve your issue.

I will check and let you know. Prior to this theft service and suspension service light the stabilitrak light and brake assist rear axle messages would sometimes come on. That’s what has me thinking the rearward harness.

There are a bunch of wires in that harness connected to even more sensors. I have heard that al kinds of weird funky things can happen and different people experience a different set of issues. The common factor is that the issues manifest after the longtube header install. I have also heard that too large of a rear tire set up will rub the wire harness and can give issues if you don't relocate the wire harness.
Anywho, let us know when it's sorted to confirm the culprit. Closure on these thread types are what will help out others down the road in the same predicament.

Right I will let you know I have a drag pack which mickeys in back rt street r that are tall. This issue started really after I had those installed and driven for about 200 miles now.

The stabilitrak was always there since I had the super charger and motor swapped too. Can’t get it tuned out according to pray.

So thinking I will look im those spots first tonight and let you know. A new harness for the rear is about 100 from GM direct.

Well here is the harness and it’s burnt. I’ll see how bad it is after dinner.

Is this an easy harness to replace and do you have a part number?

I’ll see if it’s just a few wires and try to repair.

Here is the damage not awesome!

How much would it be to just have that harness replaced you think? There is a lot of burned up wires in there.

No chance I am doing all those little wires half them are already separated. Anyone have an idea on cost in labor hours to replace that harness. Doesn’t seem like the main engine harness. But assuming this damn thing connects to every interior sensor I am screwed.

Man, I'm sorry for your ordeal. This looks like the engine harness to me, and if the same thing happened to my car, I'd push for a fix no matter what, because the harness being expensive is one thing, but replacement looks insanely labor intensive.

Yea I’m going to get it replaced and tied up away from the header. Sucks ass but I’ll save up a bit over the winter and get it done.

Not sure this is something I want to try and replace my self because I despise wiring but possibly isn’t that hard. Just a lot of removing and putting back together.

Sucks to hear man, I had a strong feeling this was going to be your issue. I read about this happening many times, and that's why I asked if you installed longtube headers. Hope you are able to sort it out, that is not a repair I would feel comfortable doing myself.

I need to find a dealer I can tow it too or local shop. My buddy might be able to do it over the winter as well. Trying to find a dealer that won’t give me the all the d at once.
