Travislambert have you took his advice yet or are you still part of your own problems?

i just submitted an order to my dealer for a RRT M6 ZLE with PDR and all the carbon bits and bobs. They get a pretty healthy allocation, and hopefully with the color and PDR it will be a very late production build which i'm betting will be the last of these mohicans. GM quietly kills off their lines, unlike Dodge who is going out guns blazing with the "Last call" and '"Jailbreak" Challenger..anyone remember the 02 Z4C SS?

Honestly makes me a little ill in the tummy... Here I am (a track rat) who has owned and tracked many Camaro's with a now 23 ZL1 1LE on order since the beginning of Jan with no expected eta...

watching the guy who lets all his Camaro's sit in a garage somehow gets the one ZLE allocation...

This is why I never play the lotto... LOL

Congrats on the new ride I may be just a little jealous...

Here is a video of my previous 2018 ZLE on track doing what it does best!

I just placed a new order with a different dealership in STL in July and received an allocation this week. I know the 1LE is on constraint but you may want to entertain ordering from a different dealer like I did. I have the details in a Midwest Dealer thread I started today.

Good Luck!!

Getting my ZLE cleaned up, gave me incentive to dig out the 99

Hey Leonard, when you were at the factory, did they tell you anything about the hood wrap installation process? Obviously it's something that's done last, but is it done there in the factory or do they send it somewhere else? I think mine may be built this coming up week & I'm just really curious about that part of the process.

It went somewhere else, but I’m not sure how far from the plant that it was. I have a photo of my car at the hood wrap facility that I’ll look for.

Here is the hood wrap facility. It looks like a parts warehouse, based on the background.

I'm considering ordering a 2023 but spoke to some folks with connections at GM plants and I was told that the constraints, production delays and covid have definitely affected the build quality of the cars. For those of you with a 2021-2023 that traded in from the earlier ones, do you see any issues? I for one am very satisfied with the fit and finish of the 2017 and have had no issues except for a battery replacement. I appreciate your input.

Don’t you only have like 1200 miles on your ‘17? With the “information” you posted above why would you even consider taking the risk? There’s virtually no changes to the newer models except the tails and paint colors. Just my 2c.

I moved up from a 18 1LE to the 23 ZL1 and I think, and I think I'm harsh about it, but the build quality is superb, everything is exactly as it should be, paint, ride quality, no squeaks any where, I couldn't be happier given that I had a 21 on order for 90 days, then a 22 for 230 something days before I was finally to get this 23. I've had this one for 5 weeks and it's absolutely perfect in every way.

Unfortunately we have no statistically relevant data, no conclusion can be drawn from the build quality of a few individual cars.

For what it's worth, I had a 6th generation 2LT and 2SS, same model year, and the 2LT was built better with practically zero minor flaws and annoyances. I fixed everything (or got it fixed) on the 2SS, so it doesn't matter to me, but there certainly is some variance in build quality, we just don't know how much.
