Interior Stench

I had not driven my ZL-1 for about a year, when I had to move it recently. The interior smells like cow shit. It literally smells like I am driving by a dairy all the time when the windows are up.

I do have 2SS leather door cards and knee pads that I added to get rid of the alcantara, and that may have contributed to it, but still...

It's back in storage with an interior car cover on it, so I will try leaving the windows down an inch or so. Any other suggestions?

I would Look around for dead vermin in your car. Check the cabin air filter/air filter area and anywhere else something could crawl.

My guess is a dead mouse. They like to make homes in vehicles, especially those that sit outside unused for a while.

Try putting a couple of containers of moth balls at the front and rear of your car to keep the mice and other creatures out but make sure the pets(dogs or cats) can’t come in contact with the moth balls. Or even a open can of coffee placed inside the car might help to absorb the terrible smell.

I second this.

Here's the cabin air filter from my friend's 2016 Camaro 2SS.

A mouse thought the cabin air filter would make a delicious meal and then croaked while dining on it. Most likely the mouse gained entry into the car from the open area around the windshield cowl and front fender.

Cabin filter was fine. It's stinky leather.

Same issue on my 2019 2SS. The leather has a smell.

All kinds of surprises can be found in things that sit 12+ months...

Yup. It sucks. I'm 4.5 years into a divorce that has cost me over $500K, and is a year from being finished. Think Amber Heard, without the shitting in the bed. Pure narcissistic psycho.

I get no joy from driving my car, which is why its in storage. I'll take it out when I'm in a better mood. Next year.
