Headers and Tune Install costs
I have a 2020 2SS A10 and I was recently quoted over 7300.00 for installing headers with catted connection pipes, a flex fuel kit, and having the car tuned by a well-known and reputable shop performance shop here in Michigan. That pricing seems insane to me... I have reached out to Vector and Lingenfelter (not the shops that quoted me) multiple times on the phone and via email and have gotten no response or return calls from either company. What should I expect to reasonably pay to have the above done? Are there any other shops in or near Michigan I should check with? I don't mind traveling for quality work. Thanks for any advice!
In case this makes any difference I have the LT2 Intake Manifold, a Ported Throttle Body, a full 2ndry cat deleted exhaust system from MRT, and a GM cold air intake.

That is a bit much man I would say about 3500 for all of it if that. The kooks 1 7/8 LT with hf cats runs you about $1850, flex fuel kit about $250. You can add another $1400 (that's on the high side) for tune and labor.
Now you can save money on the headers and not go kooks just used them as an example because that's what I have.

$600 or so in labor to install headers and catted connection pipes. About $1000-1200 for custom tune using HP tuners. $50-75 E85 sensor install. Plus the price of the parts. Have you tried Katech?

That's where the quote came from... I don't particularly want to do a remote tune but that's what I was thinking in terms of labor for the installation of the headers.

There's not much to futz with tune wise when doing headers. Any professional remote tuner would have no issue cleaning up your stock tune with headers in <5 logs if they are only messing with MAF and codes. If they do it right the should touch MAP (airmass) tables and that could take a lot more logging, but the right thing to do.

I have intake, ported throttle body, LT2 intake manifold, long tubes, cat delete, ect, ect.
I went with a remote tune from trifecta. Very easy, very fast. Had the car dyno'd recently and they said the tune was pretty good, only a tiny bit rich at WOT.

<$35k car and they want $7300 for headers and tune ?
Wtf are they thinking ? I imagine a full Heads/Cam bolt ons package is almost the price of the car Might as well gotten a ZL1 at that point

Not sure exactly where at in Michigan you are but Juiced motorsports in Chcago area (I know some have not been pleased with them lately) offers performance packs in different stages. from what it sounds like a stage 1 kit could be an option. its headers, off road pipe, rotofab intake and a tune installed for $1970. im sure a call and discussion could be worked out for the e85 and anything else

I'm doing basically the same mods as you on my 22 SS 1LE M6, do you mind sharing what your dyno numbers were after the Trifecta Tune?

Well I have to chime in here, because I just got the Trifecta advantage tune and I'm curious as to other people's experience. All I've done was a cai and cut off second cats. I had pedal commander and I know it doesn't add performance but it's fun driving it with the throttle being instant full throttle.
Anyway, they told me they did mess with the throttle, but they wouldn't tell me what else they adjusted. I can tell that when I shift, they are smother so I'm not sure what adjustment would effect that. It is a manual. And those with the tune, would a lt2 and bigger throttle body get much gains? Trifecta said it wouldn't. They said to get cam and heads. But I don't want to do that. I am 90% sure I'll get a procharger in a year or two. They don't support that now, but may in the future. But anyway, how do you guys like your tunes with Trifecta? |

If you are looking for a Header that will get your installation cost down, there are the Stainless Power Headers for the 6th Gen Camaro. We had a set installed with a Mishimoto 3" Axle-Back Exhaust and used a Trifecta Tune. We did not have a Flex Fuel kit on this Camaro. We did keep the factory mid section of the exhaust which kept the AFM and Crush section in place. The factory section connects to the Stainless power headers which keeps the fabrication to a minimum. My suggestion if anyone does plan to go this route is to weld the cat pipes to the factory exhaust, even though it does come with clamps to connect the cat pipes to the factory exhaust you still get a little exhaust leak.
