Manual Transmission Help

Posting this here because I wasn't able to get an actual response in the transmission section.
For Context:

My issue:
Mine also sounds like it's rubbing when the clutch is out in neutral but when I press the clutch in, the sound goes away. Lately, it's been more apparent and i'll notice that rubbing sound sometimes when I let off the gas while driving (coasting) while coming to a stop or if i'm giving it very light gas. Also hearing a little more chatter while easing out the clutch in first or reverse. Were you able to get your car checked out and figure out whats wrong? I've never got any of the clutch overuse messages or check transmission messages either. I like to think i'm decent at driving and i've never no lift shifted or done any crazy pulls.

My transmission fluid temps usually stay in the around 110-130 range after some driving. I tried picking it up on video but it's pretty much impossible. Also car has ~35500 miles for more context.

Any idea what the problem is? I still have powertrain warranty until the end of this year.

I assume not tuned, you say engine is modded past being covered? I think it might be easiest to go to a good non dealer shop and get them to listen to it but too concerned about that engine statement, typically that's the whole powertrain is linked together in that regard to warranty. I don't think you can look at it in a vacuum as if the trans isn't modded its still covered but who knows dealers can all be rather sketch about shit like that.

Sorry for the confusion, not modded at all and no tune either.

If your engine is modded as you say, then I cant see the transmission warranty being honored anymore.

Putting more power than factory through the transmission will void your transmission warranty, modded transmission or not.

Sounds like the throw-out bearing.

Could be.
I think you should be able to get throwout bearing problems to reveal themselves just sitting in the driveway pressing and releasing the clutch. The fact that the noise changes based on acceleration/deceleration means drivetrain loading is a factor. Maybe output shaft, U-joints, differential?

I’m completely stock besides some cosmetics and having the NPP fuse pulled. No mods at all.

100% throwout bearing. Not covered beyond 12,000 miles 12 months probably. Probably not a super expensive part but maybe not inexpensive to swap.

now, for old guy Camaro stories:
I had a new 85 Z28 which repeatedly caused throwout bearings to massively Chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp. GM couldn't fix it, they kept putting in new throwout bearings and 3 days later chirp chirp chirp.
GM warranty ended up paying a third party transmission shop to fix it with a shim. The next Z28 (IROC) I bought (89 dual-cat stick) had wrong speedo gears - on both ends - GM techs couldn't guess the right ratio for the topside gear. So GM paid a third party speed shop to fix that under warranty by cutting a custom speedo gear to make speedo be exactly correct... But not before a few (more) speeding tickets for me.

Now there's some confidence!
Cheap part, but expensive to get to.

Would a throwout bearing not count as something powertrain related? I also have an issue with not being able to get into 2nd when down shifting from third which is a issue some others have with their 2018 model year cars as well so I might just try and get it all warrantied. If they don't budge at all, i'll probably end up upgrading the clutch too since the trans will be dropped. Probably won't get another opportunity to drop the trans so might as well upgrade incase I do start pushing some more power. I'm not too savvy with manual transmissions besides bikes so I appreciate the help with this. Thank you.

Throwout bearing problems will likely manifest any time you shift.
What you are describing (can't get into 2nd gear) sounds like a linkage or shifter problem.

I would ask dealer about warranty coverage. The bearing is a "lubricated" drivetrain part and may be covered. OTOH, the clutch is considered "wear and tear."
I think the linkage is covered under basic warranty, not powertrain. But I would ask.
Here is a list I found of what is covered under powertrain. Yes, kind of an old list.
