Where I'm at during peak hours, it's something like $0.54/kWh. $0.34 off peak. Solar ends up being around $0.11/kWh. Even electricity from the sun isn't free haha.
The new Dodge electric muscle car looks interesting, even with the kitty scream, would like to see how it performs

They pay everyone less to fund the "free" charging, and by not taking advantage you are leaving money on the table.
Though it's highly unlikely had they not installed the chargers, that money would have ever been distributed to payroll.

True, virtue signalling is, after all, priceless.

Holy crap, I assume you aren't in the US? $0.54/kWh is insanely high. I believe that would correlate to at least $6+/gal using my utility companies math. UK?

FWIW, a Tesla Model 3 gets around 4 miles per kWh. This is why charging at home is key to getting the fuel savings from EVs. At home I charge at $0.12/kWh. So, 50kWh battery should get you around 200 miles of range and cost $6 to fully charge at home @.12/kWh.

Charge at peak times from a Supercharger in California at .58/kWh and now you are spending $30 for 50kWh or about 200 miles of range.

Well not sure what math XCel Energy in Colorado was using, but their lowest (off peak) residential rate is $0.11/kWh and their own email said you can "charge EV's for the equivalent of about $1/gal", which using your 4 miles per kWh would be more like $0.25/kWh so who knows.

Regardless, anyone who thinks they succeed in getting everyone into EV's and still charge $0.11/kwH is delusional. I would expect electricity prices to approach $1/kWh in the next 15 years at some point.

Good lord. But yes, buy an EV to "save on gas" right? lol.

It's insane to me that my flat rate (I opted out of that "time of use" bullshit the second they signaled) even in lefty CO is about the same as what you're paying for electricity on top of your probably $30K investment in solar...insanity.

I lived in SoCal (Orange County) from 2012-2015, and I genuinely don't know how people afford to live there at this point.
