Lt1 ordered in May
My dealer, who I have bought cars from most of my life, had a slot for a Camaro order.
He said I could order and accept or not. Ordered a sharkskin/gray LT1 with automatic, small spoiler, and dual mode exhaust. I was told there was a 3000 price increase but still under 40K. I figured I couldn't buy a used one for that. As of 8/27, Still no build date. Dealer says could be the first of the year. Amazing that manufacturers have gotten/put themselves in this position. How are they making money ? Will future cars be vending machine and no inventory to choose from ? Days of going to the lot, picking one out, and driving it home seem gone. Part me says wait, part says forget it. |

It's $1800 increase for the V8, plus $200 increase in destination fees. Totalling $2000 increase. Where are they getting the $3k figure from?

Camden45 is correct about the price increase.
I ordered a LT1 on May 10. Got the update it went 3800 (Built) this past Wednesday. I figure it will arrive at my dealer around December.

I feel sure the salesman gave me that number but I'll take 2K instead. Thanks.

I feel for you guys. Luckily I’m not in the car market but it must really suck right now to be a car buyer.

Your '17 2SS was possibly worth close to it's original MSRP at some point, and I doubt anyone was paying MSRP back then, so as long as you found an MSRP deal to replace it with, you could've had a brand new car for free or a few grand. Definitely worth the trouble in my opinion. I can tell everyone in the neighborhood had the same idea. Used cars were slowly disappearing and new cars/EV's were being parked in it's place. |

If you ordered the car in may with a deposit and the car was ordered by the dealer as a sold car, you should be price protected.
