I will say this

my car has the optional copper free brake kit.

It comes with larger rotors and calipers because they needed that size and surface area to match the braking level that my green one had with the smaller rotors but more aggressive pad.

It definitely doesn't have the same brake feel or force but...

it doesn't get ice mode because they have the zl1 calibration on them!! I hope to put the zl1 1le pads in there and it should basically be a 250 dollar big brake kit.(price of an aggressive pad)

not often id say this but... thank you california? lol

I learned this info from a few people at the last few event. I didn't even realize my car had the copper free brake kit till someone pointed it out. i just though the brakes weren't as good or i wasn't used to the camaro.

Interesting... I've been looking at '23s. AFAIK the ZLE is the only car w/o ice mode at all and the eLSD is programmed pretty close to the GMPP autox tune for the SLE. But $75k is a lot of cash, could also get a C8 Z51 w/MRC for that money. I'd love to get one before they go out of production. Seems like a poor financial choice but otoh this may be one time a car is a decent investment if kept in good shape with low miles!

I still kick myself for not buying a G8 GXP new when they were heavily discounted.

On autocross, though...

Who else is looking forward to Lincoln? Looks like 23 Camaros of 44 total FS entries for Nats three hours before the registration fee bumps up.

Won't be able to make it this year, parting out my SS 1LE. If anyone is interested in some of the following, please let me know. Have a friend who's willing to haul these items down to Lincoln for me.

- Flow Formed MRR M716 Wheels 19x10 & 19x11 w/ TPMS & Falken 285 & 305 RT 660 Tires (front tires shot, rears have ~30 runs left) - $600obo
No bends or curb rash, some minor marks from mounting equipment and some minor cone scuffs
- Hotchkiss Swaybar & BMR Adjustable Endlinks - $160obo
- Rear toe & camber bolts (brand new), stock bolts in the rear are TTY and should be replaced with every alignment - $30obo
- ProParts USA Tablet mount - $35obo

If you'd like pictures or additional info, please PM me.

Edit: Sold to Matt

I've been trying to figure out the part # for a new one (2019+). I took pics of my 2017 ABS pump and none of the numbers cross reference to anything online. I can't figure it out!

The car freaked out at first (idiot lights, reset driving modes to stock settings, etc. so I disconnected the battery and went to eat lunch, answer emails, etc. Went to start the car and it gave me half a crank, all lights lit. One more attempt and it started, but gave me the same errors as before, ABS, Stabilitrack and you can't turn off traction or stability using the button near the shifter. At that point I almost gave up, but figured it was running just fine and maybe some miles would be all that's needed. One block later all error lights went off and all back to 100% normal.

Anyways, cheaper than upgrading the whole car, but big PITA to R&R that module! You need that tiny female torx/ebit or a 5/32 socket, a wobble, extension set and ideally a powered 1/4" ratchet for the bolts, if you don't have the right length extensions, etc. you'll probably have to go buy something because there's just no room to deal unless you want to take the mount off, which is also possible but the 3rd bolt is difficult to access too. If you leave it as-is you'll have to loosen the 2 bolts closest to you in order to flex the pump enough so the EBCM has enough room to remove it.

I also assume GM may be able to figure out that module isn't stock, the VIN won't match. I assume they will decline to warranty any of the braking system and maybe more.

A new one will be a blank slate and must be installed in the car and then it will flash in the info based on that VIN, so all you'll end up with is a duplicate of the one you currently have. This actually requires a donor car... you can get it off a running car and then have the dealer replace it's EBCM, or you can find one in a junkyard or on ebay.

I also found one slight glitch in doing this... Valet mode and teen driver mode don't seem to be active anymore but it now has controls for the rear view mirror camera, which wasn't an option on any Camaro in 2018. Somehow installing this '19 EBCM made this appear in the settings. I assume I could now install the camera and rear view mirror display, I wonder if it's as easy as installing the '19+ sharkfin and mirror, but I imagine there must be some missing wiring too. Something to look into...

My main concern with getting one off ebay is knowing the ABS unit is actually off a 19+ 1LE w/Manual trans. I haven't figured out how to confirm it would actually be off a specific car.

Based on one of the posts in this thread from that GM engineer it must be off a car just like the one you drive.

How did you confirm the correct part for your equipped car?

VIN number. This seller listed the part with VIN and a description that it came from a '19 1LE w/6MT.

https://www.ebay.com/usr/az_cycle_parts_phx

Also on the rear-view camera I meant to say it wasn't an option in 2018, it didn't exist that year yet somehow it popped up in my settings menu after the EBCM swap. Seems odd...

I have been out of autocross for awhile and new to a red car. I had the track alignment done and last month took it to my first autocross. I was targeting 34f/32r hot tire pressures. And had some issues with front end grip being tight and under steering (could 100% be my driving) but I’m curious what is a good starting point for my tire pressures? 2022 ss 1le all stock on stock sc3 tires. Thank you.

I'd try dropping a couple pounds from those tires at both ends. IME it is somewhat surface dependant, but stock SC3s seem to like a little less pressure than some other tires. Also, for autocross use, I'd forget the track alignment specs and max out front and rear camber with around zero toe front and small amount of rear toe (maybe 1/16"). In back, on a stock car, the rear toe setting will limit the camber you can get. On my 2020, I have about -2.7 front and -1.9 rear.

Nice job, great consistency!

Hopefully you'll get 1st next year, I'm also planning on going for the 1st time.
