No, more like this is the way to get to our carbon neutrality goal. We already got to the 2020 goal 4 years early, even with major population growth and massive increases in state economic output, and are on track to get to the 2030 goal. The biggest hindrance has been rising transportation emissions. The new legislation will be a huge help in getting to the 2050 goal.

People are fleeing Kalifornia in such large numbers you can’t find a Uhaul to move out of state. Newsome probably hopes that making ICE cars illegal will make it harder for his tax base to flee to more free states.

The large population in Kalifornia is the only reason anyone cares about their goofy environmental regulations. Luckily by the time this goes into effect there will be a lot fewer people living there, other than illegals and crazy homeless people.

Yep also California imposing a ban on Gas powered vehicles by 2035 just insured their survival thanks to republican own states like the one I live in. While we probably won't get another Camaro doesn't mean I can't put a V8 in something or buy a V8 mustang several years down the road to go alongside my current Camaro.

When Teslas start going to the boneyard because no one wants to invest in a new battery, I want to see some builds putting an ICE drivetrain in one. Like LSX 454 or something. I remember a thread on here a few years ago where someone was putting one in a Prius. Never saw how it turned out though.

To clarify it’s a ban on the sale of new cars with ICEs. Sale of used cars and existing ICE cars are not banned.

Yep, just a ban on new cars at that point. They would never consider any further legislation or bans I'm sure.

I am down for that since Texas and Florida are probably in response are going to introduce and pass a low for much higher taxes on EVs if there is not an ICE choice for people that want them. Like I said before Camaro is my forever car has a V8 and amazing platform. I can just shove a crate V8 in an shell I want to go alongside the Camaro.

This, especially since we already heard "it's just an executive order, not legislation" a zillion times...
