The most important thing to look for is the highest volume camaro dealer in your area. Allocations are based on sales volume as I wasted three months waiting on my closest dealer to get an allocation due to a separate issue.. I agree with asking about where your priority are in the order queue if you were to place an order.
My allocation issue is here https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=608593. Richard Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

It is early in the MY. Thinking unloading using the truck DD, which is a very nice DD. Then just keep looking. A sharkskin came in a bit away but no silver and no MRC

I think ordering is really the only option. My guess is there isn't going to be much that dealers will order for stock on a final MY car unless they have a proven track record of selling them quick.

I do not have 20 grand sitting around for a ZL1, if someone wants to send me $20,000.00 USD I will gladly buy a ZL1

Id go with a call to the the DC Chevy guy that is doing a lot of the leg work in that orders status thread. I've got a good sales person at James-Martin that took over my order I had with Joe when he passed away, seems pretty knowledegable and uses the vinview and tracks my car though I still ping the order status thread, too.

One major piece of advice: Have EXTREME patience.
Your car might show up in 6 weeks. It might show up in 6 months. Or longer. |

Not being in a hurry really helps your plan/situation. We started the real search NOV 2021 with a local dealer manager whose name was given by a co-worker before I retired. He locked in a SOLD ORDER & gave me the number immediately as we knew it would be a while before anything actually happened. We're not a large town, & the dealer probably sells many more pickups/suv s compared to Camaros. About April 2022, manager contacted me & advised he had figured a way to get our 2SS through a friend of his that works another dealer 100 miles away. I think they agreed to swap out an allocation kind of deal. Our 2SS was built first week of June 2022, & arrived our dealer Aug 8, 2022.
One thing I told myself, was no way was I going to pay a premium above MSRP! MSRPs are high enough now days. If you don't have someone close, that you really trust to be 100% honest, then the suggestions about going with DCChevy that is really helping everyone out. My plan years ago was to go with Becky/Joe when the time came if local didn't pan out, but things changed over the last couple of years. GOOD LUCK!! By the way, I get your comment about the ZL1. As much as I'd love one, just cannot justify the higher price for our intended use.
