Stuck in an overflow lot. Send snacks.
Has anyone had any luck shaking out a car that has gotten buried in a overflow lot at the factory? It looks like we can pretty much confirm that GM's shipping is First in, Last Out.
I am frustrated, my dealer is frustrated. There is no provision for local pickup. 23s are being delivered to stock where ordered and complete 22s are buried and unable to be delivered. This absolutely sucks. Even the dealers are pissed because they have buyers lined up. They can't even claim a sale for their metrics, let alone incoming money. This isn't a chip shortage, this isn't a constraint issue. This isn't a rare options issue. These cars are finished and ready to roll. And they're not. |

I am guessing mine is stuck in one since the ETA keeps pushing back every week

My 2SS was build on 5/22 then moved to the overflow lot. Moved to the rail yard on 8/8. Loaded on a rail car on 8/18. Last known ETA is 9/14.

My '22 ZL1 is complete and built (confirmed by GM Canada). No constraints. Built May 18. "Delayed Pending Dispatch" since May 30.

Did your dealer tell you your car was loaded on a train?

There is a huge truck and rail car shortage at the moment as well. So thats why most of the completed cars are sitting. Logistics are a nightmare right now.

I could accept that if 2022's were moving. But 2023's seem to be moving ahead of 22's. That isn't a rail car shortage, that is piss poor planning.

Careful or you will anger the GM supporters on here. They keep defending GM saying it is anything else but GM's fault.
"GM wants to ship cars" "GM wants to build cars" I tried to explain chips could be obtained for higher cost than they are paying and got told I did not know what I was talking about since I dared to slander mother GM. I love my Camaro. I have loved every one I have owned and I think they are the best sports/muscle car out there but I can see truth. Can't build and deliver Corvette Stingrays, can't even start building Z06s, can't build nor ship Camaros. Multi-billion dollar global company and this eludes them. Guess I'm in trouble again..... |

I had read the Chevy pushed out (delivered) 20K cars in the last month that had been incomplete, IIRC
Probably not Camaro's though  https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/08...he-last-month/ |

Then they came for the G8s, and I did not speak out—because I was not a G8 driver. Next they came for the Camaros, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Camaro driver. Finally they came for Corvettes—and there was no one left to speak for Corvettes. I know...Kinda over the top |
